How I see it:
He didn't get sacked for the original "offence" he got sacked because he kept on lying about it.
IE: If he had originally said yes, I did do the tennis ball thing, that's the way it was back then!
I would not have held him in contempt nor would have the electorate or parliament.
It would have all just passed over him but he lied in parliament and got caught out, that was the "crime" every time.
The last time he not only broke the rules of parliament but he also tried to lie his way out of that too.
Old habits die hard and he just kept proving himself unworthy of being a politician let alone a minister of the crown!
He just continued to lie, over and over until Clark had absolutely no option but to force him to stand down.
IMHO, it's also a case of the pot calling the kettle black but she holds the biggest stick, so "he" got the red card!Cheers, John.
