    has anyone considered going over the akatarawas coming out at waikanae?just a thought.

    Yes we gave it a thought .. but decided this is a cruisey ride & aka's can be a demanding road .. esp with winter conditions as well

    nah not so bad down this way, part of it was resealed about 3-4 months ago so other than a bit of loose chip should be pretty good, other than normal NZ back road goodies, odd bit of moss, dirt and cow crap

    Hey just watch out for it after a frost. Mate of mine in Devon didn't try and avoid it because there was so much on the road, a constant problem there. It was frozen and he went for a right pearler. Was fine but lucky and bike was feeling mightily sorry for itself

    yep, woodville is just before the gorge so about 1.5 hours at legal-ish speeds

    im just having a look at the map now, woodville is just next door to the meet place at ashurst yes? (mobil garage?)

    and meet time is 10;00?

    ashhurst is about another 10mins past woodville - definitely worth the extra time if you haven't been through the gorge before, its a good little bit of road (except for the traffic) - but then you can shoot back over the saddle road with us too, its a nice twisty section as well....

    edit: leaving ashurst at 10:30 so as long as you're there by 10:20 you'll be sweet
