    190/55 on 5.5in rim

Do 190/55's, in general, shape up properly on a 5.5in rim?

Anyone had experience with both 180/55's and 190/55's of the same model tyre and can compare the two?

    Should run a 170 or 180 on a 5.5, or a 180 or 190 on a 6".

No point buying decent tyres then fitting them to too skinny rims.

As far as I know that logic applies to 190/50s.

Sam Smith runs a 190/65 or 60 on his bike I think, so it's seemingly not as simple as 190 width + 5.5in does not go.

If its for a CBR/ any supersport bike, a 190 will be sweet!

Would suit Manfeild very well. I still have a 180 on mine, as I like the fast turn in. It comes down to personal preference.

    Give it a go man.

Most of the top supersport guys in Aussie are running 190/55's or 60's on their 5.5" rears. They fit fine and will give better turn in and drive than a 180.

Sweet. Cheer guys. Think I'll give it a go at Manfeild next round. The current 180 is past its best anyway.

This website gives the data for Dunlop tyres.

    http://www.dunlopracing.com/fitment.htm

    190/55 or 190/60 fitment is 5.5 - 6.0'' wheel.

I only just switched to 190's there is more grip...they handle fine...feel just the same bar uping the gearing a lil in lue of being a larger diameter.

a 190/55 turns in just as fast deary infact it has a slightly larger diameter so therefore will lift the rear of the bike up a tiny bit...and make a tiny naught of an improment to your turn in most likely
