Most valuable attribute in an applicant? Persistence!

    You sound quite despondent AJ.

Think about the fly on the window pane, he can "try" as hard as he likes, won't make any difference, he will just die there, trying!

He has to turn his thinking and subsequently his actions around and he "will" get a different result!

Do your homework on the prospective company/manager/employer/etc.

What's your point of difference? find out how that relates to the employers requirements and then peddle it for all you are worth.

Be confident and convinced why they should employ you.

Practice selling your self. (well not literally, unless that is the job you are after)

If it doesn't work first time, don't worry, change tack and run it again, employers need persistent people.

Show them you got tons of it, after a while they will be expecting you, maybe even tailor a job for you!

Adage: Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel, go on down and light the bugger yourself! Good luck, John.

I have six different bosses, five of them publishers of seven different magazines.

The sixth is a primary school principal.

I work inside/outside, it's varied, the work is almost always positive, predominately flexible and I do a LOT of k's. Even though I spend long hours in front of the monitor I'm in good shape and hate being cooped up on sunny days.

I see truckloads of custom cars, hot rods, classic cars/drag cars and bikes of all types, custom bikes, vintage bikes, bobbers, sleepers, some amazing sheds/collections, meet hundreds of way-cool people each with their own story to tell and don't get tired of it.

If you can put a label on that I suppose I'm a self-employed, self-propelled lucky bastard.
