this is some advice from one who got binned, to all riders new and old, as i found out my self things dont allways go as planedluckly i was wearing a leather jacet but that just saved my uperbody , so if your going out for a ride be sure to WEAR FULL GEAR !!!!
we got binned gonig at 60km/hr we were lucky to get away with miner bruzingbut my knee has a prety nasty cut which is the cause of wearing jeans, one other guy got stiches. only one guy walked awy with no cuts because he was wearing the full gear

pleas fellow riders take my advice and be ready for anything wear your gear

60kph BS. I looked down at my speedo before that corner came up and it read more than twice that. The lesson you learned is ride your own ride, not what the guy infront is doing
Why would he need to lie? I was part of the slower groups which was lead by Mav, and we hardly touched 90. Well I was doing about that, people behind me were doing about the same, and the people in front of me were going a little faster but they did keep us in their rear view mirrors. Now since the bins happend after us, I am assuming they were part of the slower group as well and riding even slower. If they wanted to go fast why would they be in the slower group in the first place?
Anyway as I was saying, we were pootling along nicely, came to this junction kinda thingy and pulled over for the slow riders to catch up, then we heard the news from some people in the van that there were bikers down. So Mav headed back, and the rest of us slow riders got escorted to where the medium/fast ppl were. We were then lead by Zilf I think to the place where we had lunch.
I would hope that one of the main lessons learnt is that you go where you look a lot of the time. From what I heard on the day, sounds like a bit of target fixation - one person crashes and the rest behind go 'oh shit' climb on brakes, see the corner, dont get off brakes, low side.
It is a very hard thing to learn to do when you find yourself off your line and puching wide towards the side of the road or centre line and to MAKE yourself leave the brakes and focus on leaning the bike over and looking where you want to go. I had to lowside before I learnt that lesson.
Glad you blokes came away unscathed. The tar demons can be a lot less forgiving!
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
