One of my old HR managers (a female) taught me to hug a few years back. Nothing wrong with it.

I used to work with the guy who sold a hug on TradeMe for a few hundred bucks couple of years back.

There's nothing wrong with a hug - unless it makes the recipient uncomfortable.

I don't drop my trousers at work because I work better in my undies. I expect it would have an adverse affect on my co-workers mental stability and job performance.

    So I don't do it.

    I hate hugs.

I can sense when the missus is in the mood for a hug or wants to give me one.
I take off, or usually manage to sidestep her and gone..........

As for a bloke giving me one..........never!!!!(so far)

I saw the size of Colapop the other day and would guess it could be akin to a bearhug!!!

....now if I recall correctly there was some wierd dude in Wellington going for the guiness world record for the number of hugs. Either on the News or Close Up not so long ago.

I kind of expected to see Col there.

Any one in the workplace hugs me they will get their arm biten off

    Urban-rural difference!

Have you ever noticed the difference between urban and rural people?

When they come together to interact/talk/etc, urban people step forward, rural people step back!

Space is of paramount importance to country folk, they generally have a very distinct "comfort zone"!

Hugs don't go down so well in the rural areas either. : John.

It's about not being threatening. Now, I know people see me and generally freak out, but I estimate I have hugged over 150 people today. NOT ONE NEGATIVE COMMENT.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

    Good on you, Col!
Just imagine if people hugged their kids instead of bashing them...
