    Question Wanted: wreck for beer

    Hi there guys,

I was wondering if anyone had a wreck of a bike I could have for a box of beer?

Just something I could tinker with and learn about mechanical work on etc.

    cheers guys

If you dont get any takers, a lawn mower is the same principle, briggs or similar for 4 stroke, or old masport for 2 stroke
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

Only if I'm allowed to specify the dimensions of the box!

That's not a lot of beer!

Okay seriously, what do you need, a complete bike or just an engine?

AutoCAD... fark! Shudder! I HATE AutoCAD, even though I do have to use it occasionally. Join us on the Dark Side (3D CAD). You'll never look at AutoCAD the same way again.

Ah buggerit. I don't have a whole bike for you but I do have an assortment of bike engines that I can't be arsed fixing. They're all repairable and reasonably complete. What would you like, a single, a V-twin or an inline 4?

Just to indulge my curiosity, why do you need this? Are you studying something relevant or just inquisitive about how engines work?

pm an address to me and I'll send you one.

If you were hoping for a CBR engine, you're out of luck. Sorry!

Like busy said a lawn mower is good to tinker with and also a chain saw or petrol weedeater. I know its far more fun tinkering with a motorcycle, but often the basic principles of the engine is the same. Last bike I restored, well customised was a shitty old rusty ts50er. It cost me 80 bucks to do, repainted all the parts after cleaning them up/removing rust with a rust retardant paint that I got in cans from super cheap auto. I ended up putting it on trademe for a dollar reserve and got just over 5hundy for it. Was a good bit of fun to do, the kids all thought it was awesome once completed and I ended up making a reasonable bit of cash for my work. However the day before I was going to take it to its new owner in Foxton I crapped off my MX bike and broke my back, but thats another story. Look on trademe Indy under "Parts - other", you never know what little gems are lurking in there for very little moola.
