If worst comes to worse, their license is to sell alcohol, if they loose their license, we get have to take our own, like one big BBQ picnic.
What when we can only consume food purchased there, and Mcdonalds is the only vendor....The rally is loosing the plot.
It is a gathering of Mcyclist to have a camp out, fire & beer, and talk lies & rubbish.

I don't really drink, so this issue doesn't worry me. However, it's not rocket science that if you are planning to offer alchohol, you should have a variety. It's not that hard to organise.

And when I do have a beer, it's certainly not DB. Undrinkable crapola. And that's a technical beer taster's term too.

As I understand it there is :
    NO BYO
    NO spirits for sale
    NO decent beer
NO breakfast if you pay @ the gate on the day
    NO badge
    NO bringing your own food
NO lighting of fires (except theirs)

    Did I miss any ?

They probably bought it from a liquor outlet which was selling it locally for $7.95 doz db bitter/double brown at time, our outlet which has branches in Palmy,New Plymouth and same end name as in windMILL had it cheap.

I personally enjoy most db products, but if there was only say Speights or Red,I'd drink it(just not as much)and enjoy the atmosphere, have found that drinking a beer not usually drunk by me is ok if I start with it,i.e if you like tui but red is available taste buds accept it,mostly mind over matter, after a few who cares,as for spirits take hip flask or two.

Also if you take a stubby cooler and hold it at top of can,the marshalls might not know what is in it,mind you the giveaway could be stubby cooler in middle of freezing area.

Sympathise with people who have been there before and now face restrictions on what can and can't be bought in.

Freak me out. There was two of them! Honest!

    Lost my train of thought....
Oh yes. No BYO this year. I dont see how byo would affect the rally organizers ability and judgement as far as selling to intoxicated persons goes. I wont be drinking great quantities but I will be drinking what I choose to drink. If RMCC kick people out for breaching the NO BYO then they'll only be cutting their own throats.

Just adding my thoughts as some here have said they might sneak it in,if I end up there I'll buy it on site, less shit to carry and who cares what it is,as long as it's cold,we'll be there for the friendship, meeting, drinking shitloads is something people will or won't do,the type of alcohol may not make much difference. No different than going to Dunedin and not being a speights fan,if it's all that's there to drink to bad.

It's not the booze restrictions that would keep me away (I cannot stand beer of any brand). Worse comes to worse I can have fun with out it. But not allowed to bring our own food or light our own fires to cook/keep warm/what not with?
Fuck that. I can have the same kinda fun they want to restrict us to here in town. Damned if I'm gonna pay them just for the opportunity to sleep on a soggy patch of grass.

You make a strong case for just saying "Fuck it"...
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Which sucks because I don't think there are many rallies of this size left.
