Get what it is that you truely want in my opinion. If its a new gixxer you truely want then go for it as you might find yourself wanting it after you have a bike thats not so good. Rode the 06 r6 before my accident and it was awesome and I'm lead to believe the 07 r6 is even better. But in saying that I had the 05 CBR600rr as it was the right bike for me. The 05 GSXR 750 could have been a go when I was in the market but no one wanted to supply me with locally. Not sure what a 03 CBR600rr is like to ride, but I was more than happy with my 05 model. The 05 636 was in my opinion a bloody good ride but I have no idea what the newer models are like. If you truely want the gixxer new, go for it, as it might end up costing you more now but less in the long run.

Flag the bike and buy a car... NAH!!! Go GSXR - it's a good little bike for smaller framed guys. Mind you, I am a bigger guy and I felt like I was humping an over-revving under powered coffee-table in comparsion to the more wicked M109R beast or my previous two bikes, the 750 or 1000 - they were fabulous bikes.

Get it down to maybe two, then ride both for a whole day.... make sure you really find out all its little hiccups and you may find one makes you have a sore back/arms/neck/bum whatever which you will only find out after you have a long ride on it. Even get your missus on the back and get her opinion on pillion comfort?

GSXR's are getting way to common to be 'cool'. They are like what the MR2 was in the 90's Just like when you used to be in school.. turn up with your new cool backpack or pencil case and ever other smegger has the same one!

If you're comparing between bikes of the same year, there really is nothing much in it, that us mortals can exploit.

All bikes have similar performance. imho it comes down to which you love the look of, how it feels for you, and what the ergonomics are like for you. I never leave the bikes stock anyway...

Hey...I voted R6, mainly coz i'm diehard Yamaha fan but really any of the bikes you're looking at there will be sweet as, if you can go new without pushing the pocket too hard then I say go for it.

The 03 CBR I rode was very noticeably down on mid range power compared to my GSXR600. The 07 CBR600 has more and is similar to the 636. Of the bike you list I think the GSXR is the most comfortable for touring though the 07 CBR again is better. Also if you're shorter, the GSXR is the easiest to handle in the carpark. Get the one you REALLY want!!!

Does depend a little on your intended usage, but much as I hate to say it the H***a is prolly the best roadbike out there.....
As a Trackbike buy the new R6, If crashing's on the agenda get the ZX6, and of course you can't go past the fact that the gixx is perfect for the little guy....
If you're coming from a 250 then you're on the right track with a 600, forget anything bigger, you don't need it.

Jeepers don't ask us, we're idiots!

Buy the one you liked the most that you took for a decent test ride.

Nothing else matters because you have to live with it. If you can;t extract a test ride from a dealer then it doesn't bode well for an ongoing relationship with them, does it?
