Thought I'd provide a lesson for Chancey on how to bin with style.
Could have a been lot worse. The CX needs to go to the exhaust docter. There's quite a defined post impression in the rh header. I'll just use mildsteel tubing as the existing setup has obviously lasted a few decades. A bit of heat will sort out the brake lever (if someone has one laying about I may be interested btw) and the rh foot peg. "Good ol cold hard steel you know Mr Mainwaring!!" Impact seperated the rear rh indicator bulb which I found rattleing around while carrying out repairs at home. Good thing I've collected a few tidbits over the years. Used steel pipe straighten Rh front stem.
Oh the rh side cover is badly cracked so if anyone has a spare rh and lh they want to sell as well sing out.

Luckily I've a spare bike or 3 ah?

Judging by the speed the Daytona and Concours passed me, one presumes you lot are not aware of the posted speed limits.

Was a great afternoon for a ride, hope you enjoyed yours. (would have stopped and said hello at Stormy Point but you looked like you were ready to take off again ).
Wasnt my concours i stayed home today, beside i would never ride at that pace

Over the handle bars I went, with a soft landing in the mushy paddock. Now that was a first. Quite interesing how time all of a sudden slowed right down. Can remember thinking "I hope this wont hirt!!" as I flipped still airbourne looking at the sky. Had to toss out my Duck leggings when I got home, which I've had since '81. They've been torn to shreads by the barb wire. Luckily I've got a birthday coming up in a few months ah?

Saw heaps of bikes out too which was good to see. Hope the others got home ok.
Holy shit bonez you falling off, thats not good. looks like you took a big chunk of fence out. Pleased your ok

Yea i would have to agree with that i think the speeds are getting a little too high especialy on the main highways All good fun untill someone looses thier license or worse thier life, dont mean to sound a drag but i would hate for one of our rides to end up in misery

Glad to see that the two wounded warriors got home ok. Never nice to come around a corner and find people picking themselves up off the road . Don't do it again ok?

Had a great ride myself - particularly enjoyed finally getting the Concours over Vinegar Hill. Even left a small piece of hero blob on the road...

guys I am putting today down to MY inexperience ... I got a suprise to see bonez down & lost concentration .. along with grit & the corner dropping off without being signposted .. quite frankly it was not about speed ..

yes some of the rides lately have been quite pacey ..... & reading bout yesterdays one may have been case in point ...

guess its time to decide if we are having a cruisey ride out, or if its all about who can get there the quickest ... thats for you faster guys out front to decide ..

.. we already discussed that .. this was a real low grade bin .. prob doing all of 5 ks .. because i was in the gravel & lost balance the front end was really swinging .. so it was not graceful or dramatic but effective .. & we both managed to make our way home

but I guess I can try again next weekend .. the warhorse, 86 & I have a "hot" date ..... would have been beneficial to have that today .. maybe

I'll have to admit I hit the corner too quick. About 20 kms more than I should've I guess and difted right. Locking up the rear brake going sideways is not good. Got it staight again but far to close to the fence by then. Wasn't expecting the bike to stop as quick as it did obviously.

You did well to keep the bike up as far as you did, hitting the kill switch was good thinking when you were down so to speak. I was thinking "shit heat+petrol+synthetic gear wasn't a good combo " and the fact you appeared pinned down.

Lesson learnt ah, ready for the next run?

Yes, the day was an odd one alright. It had started out well enough with a good crew and a nice relaxed pace. It was a shock to see both Bonez and Chanceyy down, and not an experience we want a repeat of.

The bins occurred on a totally unfamiliar piece of road. A bloody good road, but again, that cursed pea gravel all over it!

Thanks Bonez yeah my leg was traped under bike .. thats why I leant over & hit the kill switch .. hmm gear actually damn good .. can see on my jacket where I hit the road but since I had leggings on they ripped.. but hey they only $10 so no probs there,

but thanks for extracting me from under my bike .. esp since you had just been for a wee flight too .. just glad it was not a huge flight over the bank mate ..

& yeah I guess it was done in style so thanks for that but its not what I want to repeat .. just lucky there wasn't a cam about huh ...

It has not put me off at all & quite frankly was glad to get back on the bike instantly.. just the headache was getting to me a few times til Sarge fed me pain relief .. thanks again sarge
