but I'm a bit wary of going flat out along that straight, dont like the intersection at the bottom, people like to pull out there.

yeah I had two booming V-twins getting in the road around the twisties so when the time was right I picked you both off. I heard the Buell change note as I pulled up beside you time for action so down a gear a give it handful only saw 2**kmh down there

When you're coming down the hill you can actually see either side of the intersection pretty clearly it's just the area by the house on the right that's a bit dubious and you need to watch

Testing yeah, I remember first time up the hills ever on a bike, my RG150 following some friends at 10pm down that road with bloody 20w bulbs on high beam (I've seen pushbike lights stronger!), packing myself on a few corners talk about trial by fire!!

Today I was enjoying it pretty thoroughly, and the first half up till the cattle stop and cliff side drive was great - but a wee way into the last section I saw a white cross on the edge next to the drop and decided to take it a wee bit more careful. The camber on some of those corners is crazy, and the saggy wet noodle excuse for a shock at the rear of my 750 wanted to toss me off at the first chance of trouble.

Pitty about the bike race, sounds like they haven't learnt from the accident a few years back!

I would just like to reiterate to those that weren't there today, that it was a fucking awesome day, a day that represents all that is motorcycling to me. Days like this are getting rarer and rarer, what with the higher number of vehicles using our roads each year, increased policing of said roads etc. Get it while you can. Do like I did, become a bum and ride everyday.

I pootled* over to Akaroa after the brit bike show yesterday. Fantastic except my favourite lunch/coffee spot (By the Green) was shut

not too many munters about, and it looks like the road has lost most of the grit/shingle from winter. quite a few cars out though.

*wearing draggin jeans I wasnt about to push my luck.

Suddenly there is a van on our side of the road yelling at us to get off the road... EXCUSE ME but who the fuck are you to almost run us down?? ...after him was about 30 cyclists , with a fair number on our side of the road as well.
I guess the bloke on the side of the road leaning on his sign before we got the van trying to run us down, was maybe meant to STOP THE FKN TRAFFIC GOING THRU AND FORGOT???????

fks sake, if you are having a race on an open public road i suggest you get someone with a brain to hold your signs, otherwise pay up for a closed road like the rest of us do when we race at the track or piss off our OPEN PUBLIC roads.
very lucky not to have a repeat of the Le Race fatality, with a couple of motorcyclsits thrown in for good measure today
really interesting. Bet you a dollar that didnt comply with their traffic management plan and all that bullshit. Complain to the council so they dont get a permit anymore. that would be Selwyn District I think

Actually, not everyday. I've taken today off from riding, leathers to clean, housework to do, etc. But I'll be back on the bike everyday thereafter.

Proud to be a bastard. I've spent the last 7+yrs not having weekends, missing out on rides etc. Now it's my turn to have a healthy dose of guilt-free 'time for myself', and if I can make others envious in doing so then all the better . The biggest decision I face everyday now is whether I'll cook myself bacon and eggs for breakfast or go out for breakfast.
