How many riders are coming? I live on the north shore, so that's halfway to whanga already... Brenderwyns are fun, we should find some way of blocking off that stretch and just do laps...)
Its diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; its life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
i think you mean twin birdges?? thats between kaikohe-whangarei. i used to take that route back to aucks on a friday afternoon and yeah its very nice. i was so kicking myself when i saw the pics of the group last weekend that went that way, if i had known they were going that way i'd definitely have gone.
I think it was the twin bridges I was thinking of, I haven't been this way in that case![]()
Hey hey, I am real up for this ride but it's down to how much uni work I get through.
I need a good valve tune as I only getting not much more than 200 km on a full straight tank. So any peeps here know what they're doing, get in touch cuz I am blowing my fuel like there's no tomorrow. I really don't dig taking my bike into the mechanic works, as they often over charge, plus half of them don't even bother fixing bikes under 1996.
They tell me, 'we only tune new bikes and you gotta take it down to sometime garage'.
Recommendations please, because I have been meaning to get this sorted for quite some time now!
Rest of ya's are probably all having a Uni Break at the moment, so good on you chums.![]()
Pump some iron ya pussies, as it will build your muscle strength and stamina.
It's also a matter of technique, a lot of people tense up when they ride where they should instead be in a firm but relaxed grip.
It's something I reckon everybody should learn, stiff body postures also gives you a more harsher turning angles.
It's something also that I am still trying to learn, especially over those long rides where ya doing 120 on a average.![]()
Don't just live to ride but ride to live.
You know, I rang around some people say there's no use doing a carb balancing for a bike that's done 90,000 km and that's over 15 years old.
Then again, it can't hurt right? I posted this as a topic awhile back and I got a lot of reponses from people sayng that it can't be bad to give your bike a good tune up.
I mean, shit, any mechanics out there whose keen on doing some cheap jobs definitely or the sake of helping out a fellow biker give me a buzz.
I remember there was some guy out in Auckland whos a bike mechanic, posted on KB mentioning he's happy to tutor people during his spare time. Gave him a PM, got a reply but he didn't follow through, and flaked out.
I'll PM Stephen... Cheers.
I am pretty good on CBR's but not sure about the other bikes. Might be handy if you have a maintenance manual. Perhaps time for a new bike like you were saying not too long ago.![]()
Don't just live to ride but ride to live.
