Glad you lived to tell the tale with your spidey senses working well.

    Nice save!

Finding an concoming steel deathcicle in my lane is my biggest concern when on the open road.

Hopefully hubby gets a stern talking to eh!

Sorry, I'm confused. You have a car suddenly appear on your side of the road and you "drop a gear and pin the throttle" to take evasive action? Were you overtaking a vehicle at the time? Would not swerving straight over to the shoulder of the road have been a better idea?

Thanks for the write up. Great day to be a biker when your actions avoid your own death! Well done that rider! Scary when the flame in the candle is snuffed out. Good on you. Cheers.
When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

I was riding in my lane... and the car pulled straight out in front of me! I rarely overtake unless there is like a zillion metres of clear road in front (being on a 250 and all!) I did swerve over to the shoulder of the road! I guess I didn't make it plain enough? Mys bad!

I'm still confused. You "dropped a gear and pinned the throttle" - so you intentionally accelerated towards the vehicle in your immediate path?

Some advice? Yeah, forget the "dropped a gear and pinned the throttle" crap. Sorry, sounds too much like a "look at me" story.

I was taught, by veteran riders and motorcycle bible books alike to be in a gear where you can always accelerate.

In this situation, one would assume small acceleration = grip, grip = harder turn, harder turn = getting out of the way faster. Doesn't seem wrong if you're accelerating to miss somebody, not towards them.

Sorry, sounds too much like "picking an argument". You're a bit of a cock eh, Katman?

Daft? Yes! Mad? Definitely! Not quite right in the head? Assuredly!

All on Warhammer 40K, 2 boxes of Space Marine companies, 3 Baneblades, Order of the Chapter Masters, Leman Russ armoured company, vindicator linebreaker company, and other sundries ... probably won't make much sense to most people!

I do have two massive Flames of Wars armies , 15mm German and US (mid to late war) ... should dust them off one day!

I've got Dark Elves, Brettonians, Vampire Counts and Orcs for Fantasy (though only the Dark Elves are gameable with )

Yeah, used to be a D&D GM back in the day (and AD&D, Cyberpunk 2020, MERP etc etc)
