If the man is undecided then he needs to ride both. Then buy the Sporty.

In terms of resale the chap above is 100% correct, the Hyosung will drop it's guts big time while the hog will hold it's value much better plus you know it will be very reliable, that can't be said for the Hyo (yet)
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

For less than that he could buy my '97 1200 Sportster 'S', 30,000km but runs like new, looks like new and the best handling model of the Sportsters made.

    No factory warranty but.

Hes leaning towards the Harley now. Test riding this week (bastard!).

The Hyosung was 9995 + orc - the Sportser was 11995 rego'ed and warrented (less than 1k on the clock)

Last night over beers he decided that he is getting a lot more bike for less than $2k. (which he will get back when he trades up - unlike the Hyosung).

Turns out his real motivation was actually getting a v-rod (thus the hyosung because of the styling).

    Thanks for the comments

I am happy that he has seen the light.

But you need to watch that mate of yours. He is not the fastest. Took him 24 hours to make a 2 second decision...
