    So what you guys think?

Next time ill service my bike some other place any one now a good place for servicing Honda bikes.
Probably a Honda dealer. I think am going to have to get new tieres as i feel like am drifing a bet when am turning weird.

I wont be able to go for the ride on Sunday
    Ahem!!!!

The mechanics details that i posted in our club under the "Student friendly mechanic thread" was the head mechanic at CycleSpot Honda (now running his own show).

But in answer to your sqeeking prob. Some pads are like that (especially the race ones full of copper), from time to time you will need to squirt some disc cleaner on your brakes to remove the fine dust that builds up and if this doesn't work you can try removing the pads and making sure their are no sharp edges on the outsides of the pads. If there are (some sharp edges) just get some 120 grit sand paper and smooth the edges of the pads (NOT THE SURFACE OF THE PAD, JUST THE EDGES).

Otherwise, replace the pads for some softer composite ones or just live with it.

thers noting stupid about doing a stoppie! unless it happens to be infront of a cop!(you looked behind right!!)

take the disk off and put it on a glass coffie table. you will see pretty much straight away if its straight or not.

depends if your been to shadows or not, because if you have you might be bent and not your disk.

You can try some brake cleaners. Removed the pads and unbolt the calipers and spray the cleaner all over to clean the dust. Best if you can buy some "anti seize compound" and rub it at the copper back of the pads will eliminate the squeeking. Did that on my CBR250 never bothered with the other CBR's I owned.

Unbelievable, that written off 2004 CBR600RR just sold for $6350 on Trademe. It needed $600 worth of revinning and engineer reports plus fairings damage, shifter, brake light, indicators and more. Even as a race bike, the price was up there...

i've changed the details post up the top there - read it
BTW that is a choice circut with heaps of really fun corners and wicked scenary. I ride out to Piha every second week but usually tackle it from the north i.e. go up to Kumeu first and down through the ranges. I'm looking forward to this ride, shame there isn't a pub at Piha for a quick re-fueling stop...

I was out there on Tuesday and the dreaded green moss is still on some sections of the road, I'll try to remember to bring that up before we leave on Sunday

I reckon a new set of fairings from just fairings for $2000. These bikes are still worth about $11-$13k second hand. should be able to get it back tip top condition for about $3k still worth it unless its becomes a streetfighter or naked bike.
