A little kid burst into tears and refused to look as its mum carried it past. I was wearing my skull mask, black half-helmet and sunglasses, and riding the Apocalypse (which has real skulls tied to it.)

Bike was on a hoisted workshop bike bench/stand at a bike shop and a couple comes in and guy says "Hunny, now that's a Fireblade" proceeds to the bike and inspecting it. Turns to me and says is this your bike? Now that's one mint bike. Love to own one of this some day.

How is this about a kid commenting on your bike? Did you just decide to tell us that story randomly?

Whoops was suppose to add before my sentence that comments from a couple and not a kid just like what McJim did.

Hehehe. You monster! Terrorising small children like that.

Was the mum also terrified as she hurried her child away from the "Satanic Biker"?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    Talking Simple.

Put the boy on the CBR when he was 6 and I went up there for a visit while cruising the North Island. First thing out of his mouth was "wheres the key dad"?

Was the same trip as when we came and visited your pad.

I was at the shops and just got back to my bike getting stuff sorted in the packrack and a kid of about 5 yrs and his mother were walking up the street. The kid yells out "cool bike, I want one like that one day"

I gave the kid the thumbs up as his mother grabbed his arm and took a few steps quicker. I could hear her starting a ramble with something like "Never , Dangerous ... blah blah blah"

You know what that kid is going to be doing in 10 years.............

I repeatedly get told "I love your Harley!" or "Wow, cool Harley" even though I in fact do not own a Harley at this present time.

Thats good.. because you know.. Harley's are all bling, fat, and loud. It was what I was going for Now if only I could find a way to lower the rear easily.

I've had the Suzuki TS125 (dual-sport, for those too young to remember them), Honda CB360 and a couple of other non-cruiser-style bikes called "Harleys" by kids and been asked by other kids if various bikes are Harleys - guess that's an example of good advertising if the name seems to be the only one they've heard.

My kids are better educated and proudly yell out "look, dad, that's a Yamaha!" (or Suzuki, Honda, BMW, Hyosung etc) - proud that they can read the badges. ("Look, it's got 'YA-MA-HA' ")
