My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
Had a lot of fun at the PP. Good to put faces to names. Had fun in the sun in the Southern Riviera, and it was great to wake to the sound of the sea.
Big thanks to ScumDog & Chrissie for the hospitality on the way down.
Also thanks to our caterers Mutley and Virago. The B&E pie was great and NH is still talking about the bikkies and coffee. Sorry we didn't go for a ride but it was fun talking in the sun - but I seem a bit pink today
So the gear is all put away, and I have started making lists of what to take next time![]()
Well, what a wekend!!
First the Canterbury rabble arrive at Chez Scumdog from all directions and promptly trash my otherwise glowing reputation for 'sensible' posts on KB
The we all sat around and downed a days national production of alcamahol ex Mexico and sorted a shitload of the worlds problems, luckily idb arrive relatively late and being more soberer than some herewas sent to local 7-11 to aquire more alcamahol to keep things going.
Much hilarity was had by all (a lot at my expense I might add!) and eventually we lurched off to our respective beds.
Next day started with me waking beside CB with my t-shirt and one sock still on and my sneakers beside the bed still done up.
But the day just got better - brilliant sunshine as befitting the Riviera of the Souths reputation.
Everybody got up, had some brekky and re-packed bikes in a stately manner and some headed off to the deep south to catch up with Rashikas auntie and return via the Catlins Coastal Route.
The rest headed to the PP site and set up the nucleus of Camp KB (Camp runnamuck more like it I'd say) where I found the tent I'd packed was one CB & I had never seen before! Luckily it was all there even if a tad less palatial than the usual portable Chez Scumdog. (We think it MAY actually belong to CBs younger son)
After catching up with people nice to see Sword (who was hurt in an off caused by an ignorant car-driver last PP) back on the bike we all headed off on the organised ride, mighty impresive bikes left Kaka Point for the first stop at Garvan for a beer/wine whatever and some BBQ tucker (best meat patties I've ever had) .
Nuff for now, more later.
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........![]()

Finally arived home after a great weekend at the PP.
Great to meet a few more of the KBers. The main problem with the rally is it is only an houor from home so as soon as we off loaded the gear at home we were away for the rest of the day.
Will be back next year with bells on. Thanks to the organisers for a great weekend![]()
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.
I can only reiterate the words of the others at the PP. It was great to catch up with those I had met before and to meet some whom I had not met before.
Great social ride yesterday. The Garvan sure serves up a mean feed!

Awesome weather, Awesome Southern hospitality (thanks SD and CB), Awesome people, Awesome ride ... yeah my weekend was OKBest weekend I've had in ages, I look forward to a repeat next year.
Pics later, right now I'm off to murder a pizza and a beer or 2![]()
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
Good shit people, good shit...
Hey so, how come when new members are intrduced to me they just stair with ther gob down round their ancles and say "really"
So... who did I meet for the first time? that bald fella that was in the hamic, and several chook chaser riders?
Awesome KB turn out huh, reckon we had the bigest club turn out by a long shot.![]()
cheers DD
(Definately Dodgy)
yeah so gotta agree with the rest, bloody good weekend folks!
My auntie Clair had a grand old time and maybe soon she will take the plunge and actually POST on KB! But until that time I will just have to rark her up about it instead. Some pics will follow at some point when i can be arsed downloading them... At least i dont have 250, unlike some guzzi riding turkey farmer I know![]()

yank tank at Glenorchy 2006 rally
This is the 'more later'
So after leaving Garvan (and after seeing xknuts blasting past in the Custard Square) we all cruised (except for the retard on the motard who overtook in real dumb-arsed locations) along SH1 to Crichton and then along Lakeside Road to Kai, by now the temparature must have been in the high teens .
Stopped there for another chin-wag'n'drink then of back through the Riviera of the South to the Rosie and then out via Kakapuaka where I managed to get the traffic lights right and didn't have to stop and on down to K.P for some fish'nichips, a red wine and on to the PP rally site - and holey-schamoley, where the hell did al those tents come from - and where was ours????
Biggest crowd ever at the PP so far - and a few with sun-burnt faces eh Xaria?
After forcing down some essential alcamahol we toddled off to the marquee for more and to listen to Shotgun, a real ripping band.
Got to see Ghost Bullet do some form of Guzzi two-step which culminates in lying on the ground saying 'wotappend'????
And Cb taking pics for her collection of mens butts and mens nipples?? (WTF is she thinking??)
And Hellboy suffering a total loss of speech - and co-ordination
And Dangerous held out to after midnight and risked being turned into a punpkin
And...well, ya get the picture things were getting a tad untidy.
I headed off after 2:30am and fell asleep after Shotgun finished at 3am, man those waves sounded loud all of a sudden.
Next morning at sparrow-fart people started emerging from cacoons of various colours and stood around - some looked like it was a bit of an ask to get their eyes to function.
For some reason evertbody stood around drinking coffee, yarning, slowly packing but the usual hectic packing and mass exodus did not happen, after the sun came out from behind the clouds over the sea paople got moving and more packing happened and by the time CB and I left at about 9:45 there was only about half the crowd there.
Washed the Tequila Sunrise (it was covered in salt spray after being parked on front of the KP jar-shop) and watched bikes of all sorts stream past, magic!
Top weekend, top weather, top company and top guests @ Chez Scumdog.

" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
Hey Dudes and Dudess's,
Had a shyte ride down in the dark and rain, but was cheered up and fed a fab soup, so felt fine then. Ta for idb to show me the way there, god I'm crap I would get lost walking home sometimes I swear.
Ka Ka point continues to be a very favourite place of mine in NZ, the coast to greet my weary eyes this morning was stunning, once I was able to focus.!!Finally fell out of my tent at about 1030, and by the time the tent was packed it was 1200! Made a couple of new mates, Tony and Michael who dragged me to the Ka Ka pub, they drank beer, I couldnt stand the smell of it, so drank a nice cuppa and we had scones with raspberry jam and cream, very civalised.
A german guy came in the pub and the landlord owns a german dog (4get the make), but the dude started to tell the mutt to sit and lie down in german, and frig me, it understood him and did just that very bizzare
Sorry if I woke some of you up with a drunken rendition to Kenny Rogers, The Gambler, at 5am!! I must learn the words to that, one day, seem to have this urge to sing out loud on the way back to the tent nowadays
Tried to pole dance, last night but some chick wouldn'tlet me as she said the tent would come down, (yeah don't think so), but did a mini pole dance anyway.
The jeans are in the wash, as the front of them are covered in mud, when i body boarded the grass after "Guns, sweet child", will I never grow up?
All in all, a fab fun time was had, the contained lit area with the fires are always a great way to keep everyone sociable.
So thanks to the organisers, a wonderful job was done, guys and girls.
Had a mare of a ride home, though, bike felt heavy, my arms nearly dropped off, I nearly forgot to put my feet down when I stoppedit took forever to get home, must endeavour to not drink so much grog, or slow down, think I could handle the ride home better, me thinks.
Fab 2 cu all again, and my god Dangerous, well done you for staying up so late, even if you were getting chased round by me to get you to stay
Right thats all for now folks, really am totally knackered, still unpacking, and my bed and fluffy quilt is beckoning me to jump in and get some zzzzz's
roll on the next one
And to scummy and chris, you are the hosts with the most, ta very much![]()
