    Fog town blues.

This is just a simple plan old grizzle.
F**ken Hamilhole can stick its fog bound, grey, miserable, shitty climate fare up its Rumin packed, cow shit infested arse.
5 years of this crap that they call weather, (Palmerston Nth is a delightful vibrant metropolis compared to the real suicide capital of NZ).
And if one more inbred f**ken local yokel tells me "its good for grass growth", I will drag the two headed retard through a pile of his cows pancakes.
I thought I could live with a bunch of inland f**ktards that don't know what blue sky days are all about, but alas, my spirit has been worn down by the Commodore driving, milksolid dropkicks, and I fear that it will never shine like the skies and oceans that I pine for.
HB, Akld, Sthern Boys, don't give up your sunshine/water.
    Over and out.

    Sounds very depressing!
Hawkes Bay is not far to travel...sunny warm days and our glorious roads...why not come visit?

Hahahha just to prove that they must indeed be inbred, that's exactly the answer I get when I have a moan about the constant rain.

    Heh heh...
I lived in Hambletown for about 17 years, and I still remember after one weekend at my sister's in D'Auckland we headed souf early one Monday morning to go to work. Beautiful clear, sunny weather it were.
Then we get to the top of the Bombays, and all we could see was CottonWoolWeather, with the odd tall peak peeking its head out...
It wasn't nice driving down into it...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Looks like someone is frustrated at having an enforced break. Mind you, fog gets to some people more than others. I lived 10 minutes walk from the beach for most of my life but I don't mind the fog at all. I do miss the smell of being near the coast, but seeing as we don't need a dehumidifier at our place the fog doesn't make it feel damp and depressing. Cheer up. Cruise over and say gidday if you like.

Sounds like building NZ's nuclear reactor in H'town would be the go.
All that warmth will keep the fog away.

Bugger, I've just moved from Hamilton to Welly.

Everywhere you go there's something to complain about. If you're that way inclined.

you could be right about frustration etc Shane, sorry about the whinge guys, but living inland doesn't seem to agree with me. I'm working on a plan that may get all the ducks in a row, which should help move me forward.
HB is a fantastic part of NZ, and fortunately I have some non KB rider mates over there which I visit when I can.
It also isn't helping that both Triumphs are off the road at present(one under warranty, one waiting on the final parts), so yeah, I guess I'm a childish, grizzling little shit at the moment.
Feel free to throw shit at me, cause liv'n down here, I'm used to the runny muck.

Guess I'll have to get used to the windswept hair look.

And I agree about the fog in The Tron... I won't miss it at all. Just flew back from Welly to Ham this morning for my last few days here and was diverted to Tauranga because of the fog. Argh!

Hell yeah. I lived in Hamilton for 18 years and I couldn't get away from it quick enough. Foggy mornings, sometimes the fog wouldn't lift until 3 in the afternoon and it would promptly return two hours later. Have you ever ridden in thick fog that stopped two feet above the ground, so you can't see the road at all? That wasn't fun! Not to mention the galeforce winds blasting over the plains, and those long, long, long straight roads, and cattle trucks spewing cow poop onto your visor.

Taupo isn't a bad place for riding if you're careful on the icy roads on winter mornings.

Born in Paraparaumu, grew up in Hawke Bay, stuck in Waikato swamp since I was nine, lived in Hamilscum most of my life - still not used to fogs and pervasive cold all winter and oppressive mugginess all summer.

    It's a festering shithole, alright.

Went to go for a night ride after getting a couple of things fixed up on the XT - wound up a "Triumphant Crawl" due to not being able to see more than a metre ahead "thanks" to the fog!

Dad was never satisfied with where we settled - "the grass was always greener" and we kept moving. We moved from the delightful HB climate to the Waikato and the grass was indeed greener. Within a year we found out why: the place is a fucking enormous swamp with more water in the air than oxygen.

Tri boy, when you get the bike sorted, give me a PM and we'll head out for a ride - if we can see the road...
    Motorbike Camping for the win!
