Lance, I am so used to handsome men waving at me by the side of the road (not) that I am pretty much oblivious to them now
Well all, I have not been hiding it has just been a full on weekend and then busy days at work so the internet has not been privvy to my attention.
So many people to thank so I will start on Friday
Yod and 86 kindly came to ANZA with me to pick up the hornet and then took me for a warm up spin out to Himitangi beach to watch the sun go down. Nice ride to start with and the gorgeous weather and view at the beach was an added bonus. Only minor excitement when I didn't spot 86 indicating until the last minute, nearly got a little closer to him than required when on a separate bike, he was oblivious, luckily. Yod meanwhile had shot straight past as he was looking somewhere else too. Nice to know I am not the only one. Bit like the getting lost thing on saturday too, Yod was just keeping me company
Thanks guys, you are great and that little ride made the prospect of the following day so much more fun
Saturday was a great way to start my KB riding , it was so good to see many of the familiar faces that I had missed during my Auz excursionGood too to put faces to KBers I had not met before and even to meet some I had not encountered online either. We were a really mixed bag of bikes and people and that made for a fun and interesting day.
Nice that some things don't change e.g. cowboyz bitching at Honda'sand numerous fag stops. This time I was giving you all a good reason to stop, aren't I obliging. Good to see Cowboyz not shivering too. Maybe 86 needs yellow
ops: gold, thermals for under his leathers
I must say a special thank you to Bones and Garry H for keeping me company at the tail end for most of the ride and for giving me some nice lines to follow through the bends. It gave me the confidence to tackle the corners with a bit more speed as I warmed up and I did feel the flow begin on occasions. The rain slowed me down probably more than necessary but I never felt that I was an inconvenience to any of you, much appreciated.
Also Garry H is a starfor coming after me as I happily headed for Palmie, oblivious to missing the vinegar hill turn. We elected to turn around, pretty sure that any sensible bods would have gone on home but thought we should check.Vinegar hill in the dark at the end of a long day was interesting and again I enjoyed following Garry through the bends, thanks mate you are a joy to follow.
All would have been peachy if I hadn't decided to take a little nap with the hornet when stationary as a car crossed the single track bridge. Nearly 800k's and I fall off when standing still. I was like a stranded fish trying to extricate my leg from beneath the Hornet but the car driver avoided me and Garry hopped off quickly to my rescue.
Luckily I cushioned the topple so the damage to the hornet was minimal and we were soon on our way and arrived uneventfully at 86's. The earplugs came in handy because I couldn't hear what was being said until I got my helmet off but both guys were very supportive and avoided calling me a daft tart (which I deserved).
It was a minor niggle at the end of a great day and Ivan at ANZA took it all well on sunday morning when I dropped the bike back.
Thanks all for a memorable day. Can't wait to get the Honda and get some extra k's under the belt asap

Don't steal the government hates competition.
Thanks all for your company on a very enjoyable ride. I cant remember when I was last north of NP, and certainly never been through Awakino gorge to the 8-mile junction.
And really we had bugger al to grumble about with the weather - made for some interesting riding (or p'haps it just reflects we we are used to copping comming from dannevegas!)
All in alla greta trip![]()

Thanks for that, will help when confirming insurance value too.
For sure, that's why I don't have a clue where anywhere is. Too busy enjoying the buzz of being on the back of the Daytonacoupled with enjoying the scenery. Have been paying a bit more attention the last few rides so I do actually know where Ashurst, bunnythorpe, fielding and vinegar hill are now!!!
