oh, and i reckon a truck crawling down symonds st with 2 big guys loading scooters in it would be full and gone within 3 minutes.
By god if anyone moves my scooter, I will do exactly what you would do if someone fiddles round with your bike - f*#king give them a good kicking, I don't care who you are! I'll ask questions later.

That said there are plenty of idiots out there that have no consideration. Don't worry, natural selection will get them soon...

Parking is controlled by an Auckland City Council committee , the Transport and Urban Linkages Committee.

Members of the public are entitled to (short) speaking rights at such committees. Once I have the response from the Council (the letter went by snail mail, and the response will come the same way , so the time is measured in geological terms), I will request speaking rights on behalf of BRONZ and the AUMSC. On such occassions it is important to pack the chamber with supporters. The latter may not address the committee but their presence sends a message . One person with a complaint is a crank. Half a dozen are a pressure group. Fifty is the Voice of the People.

I see no reason why we should not extend the request to include security railings along the roadside so riders can chain up their machines. After all it is we who are doing them a favour by helping solve their pollution problem.

In such matters it is always well to give one's opponent two choices - one that is unpalatable to them, and one that you actually want. Verb sap.

BTW BRONZ does not like to pick fights with figures of authority. If they will only do as they are told there is no need for fighting at all. Education is where we are at, but sometimes they resist being educated.

Today was not much better, perhaps worse at times...

Dan managed to park in the space surrounding the doorway which the others had left clear, and david and tom will loose mirrors if large people walk by...

for those that line the wall park with your sidestand to the wall and you leave a good foot extra space for people to walk down, david's bike was hanging well out into the path!

And once again, the area where my cx is parked was more 2/3rds empty... more secure and no rain at all over there! perhaps we're being a wee bit lazy in lining that wall

Just make sure you turn up decked out in full bike leathers or textiles.

Extra points if you can score some decked out Harley Riders, even better, gang riders like Headhunters or the Mongrel Mobs.

Fetish leather peeps are O.K also...

You missed out the spelling too (no I don't mean the SMS-speak). Isn't it comforting to know that this is a first class example of our education dollars at work - all the way to tertiary level.

perhaps we need a sign: secure parking for valuable bikes at risk of theft - scooters should park elsewhere

i met this wonderful guy today.

i didnt get a chance to ask him why he didnt like bikes parking there but i figured that he wanted to get them all towed.
then i found this because some guy on a green bike told me about it.

when i arrived this morning it was reasonably packed with not obstruction to foot traffic, but i did note that both Ehabs gsx250 and much moreso Nish's zx7r are very long and stick out quite far onto the footpath.

can you two, or atleast Nish (seeing as i didn't see a bike lock to the steel bar) park by the lockers or on more of an angle?

on a brighter note, the car that usually parks next to my spot had moved over a few feet, possibly to give me more room - that's right, a cager with a brain! (maybe, either that or they're REALLY bad at parking)
