I had a shit ride yesterday and my head wasn't in the game. I figured it's not safe to be on the road when your brain won't cooperate, hence I decided to pootle home from Whangamata. Gutted about it really, because there were some people there I didn't get a chance to meet. Oh well, next time.

Going from Whanga to Kopu was a huge effort and I was really struggling to stay on the road. The bike was airborne at one point and I almost got unseated later on - I sort of lost my nerve after that!

We stopped in Paeroa for a V and a quick bite, so I decided to ride the 600 home. It's the trackday at Manfield next weekend and I always spend the first session on the 600 going "WTF is this?" so riding from Paeroa was good to familiarise myself with it again.

I felt a bit better after resting and Cajun and I managed to make good time coming home. It was a bloody good excuse for him to ride the RSV and hopefully figure out why it's stalling whenver you slow down to stop. We initially thought it was dodgey fuel, but it's not... The jury's still out on that one

Funny you should say that Motogirl.
Had an off day earlier on as well. My lines weren't the best at all for the first hour or so of the ride when we were meant to be meeting you lot at Waihi.
Seemed to get things together after leaving Waihi but still felt out of sorts somewhat for the day. Probably not my smoothest run of the year.

Some days it all fits together perfect like the run I had on the same roads with Zed some time back and others not so good. I've not had a problem all year in that respect but yesterday just didn't feel right.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

I think it was one of those days. My brother-in-law was meant to go to Ohope but didn't feel right either so wound up at the Okoroire instead. He had one beer and headed home again. Now for him to only have one beer says something was seriously wrong

Headwind wasn't so bad thanks to my new helmet. Extrememly glad I invested in getting it otherwise I would have a really sore neck. The rest of my body is dam sore though, never had to work so hard as a pillon before, the seat was slippery and kept sliding all over the place....Sorry Dan. Was good to catch up with everyone though, and thanks for the company Dmntd, Unit, Token Ginga and Ninja Nanna while the boys went off and played. In saying that I'm glad I didn;t go with Dan for the rest of the loop otherwise I would definitely be worse off yesterday and today if I had.
