I went out for a quickie

Had to re-route the throttle cables. The previous idiot owner had them wrapped around the front brake hoses so had to remove them aswell.

Was a good chance to change front brake fluid and do a nice bleed... No more spongy fronts lol......

Went out around the outskirts of palmy then into town to terrorise the locals.... Poor buggas having coffee down George st. The Monster has a great bark on overrun, nice crisp crackle being heard around the streets..

Anyway, see pics for old and new cable routing... Much more clear view of instrument panel!!!

I didn't know any better when I got the bike as I had nothing to compare it against.. All I knew was something was fucked up but it has taken me this long to sort it... It has made a huge difference, now I can see if my indicator is still flashing many a K up the road, or I can now see if I am about to run out of gas....All the important things can be seen...

    ok well

Mrs V8 is rostered in this day so will be hitting it solo which is good as the monster won't need as many stops as usual....

I will actually be driving the FH on Tuesday as part of an Amry driving cse for the weekend soldiers..( Tail end charlie with all the fixing tools ) SO I will get a few pics and get a sneak preview on what is to come for the 25th...

Awww dude - the Ace will love it!
Keep trying to tell you my bike is not the problem, it's my backside thats not up to it! I rode from Turangi to the Vinegar hill turn off in one stint last night and the last 30k were mission and unenjoyed, but the coolness off the evening may also have had something to do with that but whatever.

Echoing a young ladies comments about the Ace's seat "it may look comfortable but it ai'nt".

Yeah cheers James, check the above post, Tai'nt no big thing really dude but if I cant ride the bike in "reasonable" comfort then I wont. There are obviously times when you have to like last night in that bloody cold, you dont have an option and that ok, there is no control over that, we thinking about it I could have always left sooner but oh well. But in this instantance I know already that there is a couple of stints at least I wont do in one go. I do try and push myself every now and then to ride a little further to get acustomed to longer distances but I seem to have hit a comfort wall an about 100-110k and if I dont mind not enjoying it I can do another 30k or so then it's time to stop.
Gotten better though coz when I first bought the bike 80k was it, full stop!

    Fair enough mate
Have you tried a sheepskin on your seat or maybe if you wanted to spend the money you can get your seat reshaped and padded to fit your posterior Might be worth a look at

Yeah definetely thinking about the sheepskin thingy, damn it, too busy riding it though! But I might give that fellow in Otaki a call, he's sounds pretty on to it, make em while you wait and so on. Failing that the next step would be a "Riderz" re-shaped seat, but that means a trip to the funny farm (Auckland) unless you know of someone reputable thats nearer?

Place in Tauranga that does them for around $500, they have had a thread on kb with an offer of a discount for kb members They supposed to be good
Money well spent if your having trouble
I ordered a gel seat for the concours cause i get a sore butt as well after an hour or two in the saddle, so you aint alone

Hmm, 500 slides is pretty big coin, reckon a Corbin single seat would'nt be much dearer. Perhaps reshaping a single seat like on the Ace would work out cheaper, food for thought anyway. The best thing of all I could do for my bike comfort probably is loose some friggin weight!

Try a sheepskin first thats the cheaper option you may not have to do any more than that
