you are right his name was indeed Guy Fawkes and he was in the act of blowing up goverment but got caught so it makes me wonder all theses years since his act and considering its been a few years since 911 why are we still celerbrating Guy Fawkes's act of terrorism

Because people have forgotten/or just don't know the meaning behind it. All they think know its a good time to let fireworks off, get drunk and cause havoc.

because it would be politically incorrect to celebrate osama bin-laden blowing up the twin towers?

We don't. We celebrate the fact that he failed.

I normally like to know where the holiday comes from...but in this instance, I just like things that go:

    kabooooommm...

Brings a huge smile on my and my son's face. As long as it is done responsibly, no trouble with it. But once again, a few chosen dicks will ruin for everyone else by being irresponsible...

i think the thing that puts the smile on your sons face is the fact that hes got a great mum

Oh you smooth talker you!... Right about now, your own Mum probably would say something like: "what do you want?" with a suspicious look on her face, right?

*appreciate the compliment however, if it was genuinely meant...*

Aaaawwww... cheers mate, that's really nice!

    Now, back on topic...

When I was about 10, our school organised a trip to a mining facility. The big "O" was going to witness an explosion engineered to reveal more of the metal those guys were after...

I can still remember feeling the excitement as the earth shook under our feet and actually felt the impact through our body! It was just incredible...

Also can remember the other little girls squealing in fright, and me screaming: "do it again, do it again..."
