I lost my cat one guy fawkes night just after we had moved from the lifestyle block to the town environment, got her back 3 months later thanks goodness. I had a black lab who hated thunder, used to shiver and carry on. One Guy Fawkes noght we had a bonfire and cracker and I locked her in my laundry thinking she would at least be inside and secure. She got so upset, she attempted to dig her way out through the floor boards......poor thing.

Yep I tend to agree with you there, I remember blowing up all sorts of stuff in my youth! Still have to say I am pleased to be past the time where I have kids that want them, and certainly past the time when my son used to dismantle them and make his own, leaving multicoloured holes in our lawn.....LOL Bet my neighbours are too!

    Actually meant Guy Fawkes nights.

We get about 130-150 calls / year.

But then only 3% of those would be false alarms or pfa`s, the rest are made up of MVA`s about 90 % , House/Vehicle/Property fires would make up 7 %

Most stupid law ever. Lets limit Kiwi's to buying fireworks for 2 or 3 days a year. So what happens, they go out and buy a huge stockpile of them and stick them in the shed or spare room to use for the rest of the year. That's so much safer.

well ... i did the right thing and rang the local FD and told them i was having a bonfire and what not ..

There is no way i'm paying the call out fee if some kill joy calls out the fire dept on me ..

on a side note ... did someone say rockets ??? ... hmmmmm ... sky-rockets at night ... everybody sing along now ... lol.

I was under the impression that rockets were banned ??? .. i havn't been able to find any.

I reckon the new R18 thing is a load of shit, I might give it a try anyway, I look older when i've got all my bike gear on.

Maybe once they sell them to me I'll let them off in the store to celebrate.(jj)
