/me going tomorrow to the west coast. Long cut to chch. pm me if you wanna tag along for a bit.
A ride next weekend would be good, depending on the weather. Coffee and baking will be available at our house then. This weekend V & I are going to CHCH.
had a ride with one of my boys on his NZ 250 so its all good, does anyone know where i can get a speedo cable for the boys bike either a complete replacement cable or a new inner also i have bought a carbon fibre bikini fairing for the cagiva but it needs some brackets made to fit on the bike where would i go for that
Sorry Jim, we don't seem to be much help for those bits.
I'm home with Callum and still extracting dust out of every orifice (what is the plural of orifice???) after doing the Lake to the Sea trail ride starting at Waihola this morning.
There were over 800 riders this year!!! I know there are more road bikes out there but the number of off road bikes seems to have grown even more. Next week is the Danseys Pass ride and apparently organizers are trying to cap it at 1500 riders!! (over 4 large courses)
Best thing about this local ride is that it is organized by the Toko High School PTA - its one big day a year, which will raise close to $30K this year, which saves them having to do any other fundraising so no annoying raffles etc
It is a pretty good ride with optional routes to suit all riders but the sections on the forestry roads and a couple of farm tracks were incredibly dusty.
While there are a lot of new expensive machines theres also quite a lot of old dungers which do these rides - so if you want some more fun and refine some new riding skills then get an unregistered dirt bike and try out one of these rides

no worries i got a new "old" cable at MCR and am working on the brackets
Aahhh, that answers my question. Mutley and I had a job to do in Alexandra yesterday morning, and the huge number of trailers with trail bikes on the road was stunning! Now we know...
We spent the weekend in Cromwell, enjoying the great weather - unfortunately we were of course in the work cage...Every bike I saw was greeted with a jealous muttering...
We passed a lovely blue cruiser at "The Big Fruit" at Cromwell on Saturday afternnon, and as I muttered "bastard" under my breath, Mutley said "That's Free2B...!" We followed her into the mall carpark and joined her for a coffee.
Hope you had a great ride to Wanaka, G. Did you do the Crown Range detour? We did it this arvo in the cage - bikes galore...![]()
Can I believe the magic of your size... (The Shirelles)
Was up un Dunners for a rod-run today in the 'lorry', saw heaps of bikes on the road including a bike like Nighthawks but didn't recognise the bike with him.
Managed to get a bit of a cruise on the 'glide yesterday - was better weather then.te
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........![]()

I've seen a red version of Nighthawks' bike around town with a guy in red Alpinestar leathers... wasn't that guy was it?![]()
we use to make our own cable inners at the local bike shop in Napier years ago... as my XJ didn't have the standard cable as the handle bars were changed and everything needed to be longer...
Any engineer workshop would be able to make the brackets you are after... or someone that can weild and heat and bend the brackets to fit etc...
nah... I look better than that...
I've seen him doing the laps around the Octagon/George street course.
Out for drinks with my sibs one night in the octagon and I can't remember how many times i saw him go by...
