I asked that question at the Safeas workshops. How come there's a site to complain about people but not a site to compliement people. I am often accorded courtesy on the road which I would be glad to acknowldge with more that a "thank you" wave.

Awesome Waylander. Yes too often we bag "cagers" here on this site. There are a few arses behind wheel (as there are behind handlebars) that are the ones that make riding dangerous (only takes one), BUT there are more Drivers out there than ya realise that show a lot of courtesy to other road users than many of ya think. How many of you show recognition to drivers that pull over ta the left for ya to let ya passed? I do if I can safely. I ether wave, give the thumbs-up or nodd as I go pass. See the trick here is that by showing a little gratatude I encourge the drivers ta see bikers in a better light and therebye help me follow bikers by encouraging those drivers ta continue driving with mindfullness ta bikers.
But the opposite is true too, if ya act like jerks ta other road users ya are encouraging them ta be a jerk back to all bikers. If this is you, thanks but no thanks

Probably because I replaced the last two numbers with 'X's so some of the more shameless individuals on here wouldn't get up to thier usuall shit.

I wave to them like I waved to bikers in the states. Left hand held low and out to the side where they can see it. That's when they move over, when they don't I ignore them and go around anyway.

There is a total of 7 digits/letters in the number you mentioned - and NZ plates only have 6, one X would have been sufficient.

You fucking softy. You've ruined your reputation now..

Hey, Waylander. Great thread, excellent initial post.

I usually nod to drivers that wait on side roads for me to go past rather than thinking "fuck it, I can make it before that bike" (they can, providing I brake when they do so.) So many race out in front of me that I figure acknowledging those who show consideration is appropriate.

Likewise I wave to those considerate enough and to stop and wave me through when trying to get out of the service station onto Greenwood Street when there's a long line of traffic (saves me having to back into the forecourt and top up the petrol I lost waiting for a break in the traffic...) or similar. Obviously been stuck there themselves...
