Heheh, my biking has costed me in fuel more than what I ever did in the cage (mind you, it's only a Ford Telstar Orion, languishing on the lawn, out of WOF and Rego )

I still like the look on people's faces when they have the typical following conversation with me..

"Oh, so you got a motorbike then? I guess you got it to save on gas?" (typical non-biker line)

my reply? "Actually, I use more fuel through my bike than I ever did in the car! $600 a month more!"

All relative I guess, as bikers we get "it" more than a standard cage driver ever would ... it ain't about the numbers (though some are more important to bikers ), it ain't about the price of incidentals .... it's about doing what we love and maybe meeting a few like-minded souls along the way to enjoy our passion!

Make mine a triceratops, followed by a whale and to finish off, a stegadon to get me home!
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"

Tis $1.18 this morning. Qld, not the rest of aus. Which makes it $1.40 unzud. But I should stop whingeing, if I look at it like I'm paying an extra 30c a litre not to ride in mid thirties heat and 90% humidity, things look rather more appealing!

I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

Dont think of $$ for fuel pay for 3 bikes every day + a car adds to 2k approx a month so now that the car only gets used 4 times a month at best i dont even bother about how much riding i do and how ofton the 3 bikes get filled....In saying that i dont have kids, Drink much, or smoke that ofton, or even any HP's so i can enjoy all my free cash....But if things were different im not sure how i will be.

Petrol is not a luxury in this household. We run a couple of 4 wheeled vehicles for work, I hate filling mine thats why I have a bike now, the van is a must have or we cant earn vehicle so petrol is a fact of life for it. Weekend fuel purchases are as important to us as breathing, fill the tank and off we go!

I recommend anyone struggling with the cost of petrol, put a ride out on their bike as a top priority in their budgets, and spend accordingly so they can get out there and live!

    Well.

If people are getting depressed about the price of fuel now, what is it going to be like once it goes over two dollars a litre? Don't poohoo the idea either as many think that its just a matter of time.

Oh and $60 for 800km ain't bad either, could also be much worse on another type of bike fanging it...

Meh...as the price of petrol goes up, just have to find new ways of making money to afford the toys. Assets= good.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
