actually I have quite a few people who love me and better things to do than to bother people who post inquiring threads about bands, and take those threads off topic...

Fake Plastic Trees was one I related to so much when my ex and I split up (and I still love the song, only now it's got a good vibe!), but Creep is one of my all time faves.

So many Friday nights were spent dancing away in my favourite Indie club in Manchester (5th Avenue) to this sort of music - some people call it depressing, but I find it quite the opposite

I guess to really appreciate it, you've maybe had to grow up with it - and Manchester was a real hub for the early Indie scene (not that Radiohead are a Manc band of course....). Hubby definitely doesn't understand my love of the genre, LOL

(James are my ALL TIME fave band, but Radiohead and Stereophonics are close behind!)
omg... get out of my head!!!! I now love you lol.. fake plastic trees... so awesome.. i can spend all day listening to that one!

So do the acoustic lyrics read different to the other version's lyrics CurAJ?
nah, they're the same actually.. that's just the ones i decided to copy and paste into the thread as i was trying to play that version on guitar at the time.. lol...

again, yeah... I like this kind of music.. the slow melancholy sound makes me happy... i dunno why...

The acoustic version is the same as the original. G, Bm, C, Cm.
That's it. The whole way through.

AJ, have you ever listened to Morphine, Cure For Pain? I reckon it'd be right up your ally.

AJ - If you're into really indie/acoustic stuff - then try out some City And Colour. Or Dallas Green (That's his name - which is a city and a colour). He's the guitarist in Alexisonfire, a hardcore band, but his solo work is beautiful. To make it easy, I'll link it.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=iUFArmnakwo - Casey's Song.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=2jF0TfuITLM&feature=related - Sometimes (I Wish).
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=1VZcrGOBt34&feature=related - Day Old Hate.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=2J4ejr-zI4c&feature=related - Like Knives.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VPBhiHEtPzQ&feature=related - Happiness By The Kilowatt. This one is a cover of his own song from Alexisonfire.

That should do it for now. The cd is brilliant, and I want to get the live dvd/cd which is where those clips have come from.

Not familiar with it. I don't particularly like Radiohead. But every acoustic guitarist should know Creep. It's like the Smoke On The Water of acoustic haha!

The reference in 'Creep' to the Hollies "The Air that I Breathe" is masterful.

Scanned past that and thought, yeah, the early Cure albums, that's the stuff.... then I read it again and thought, who?

If you like slow and melancholy there's little can beat the early Cure albums.

Music to slit your wrists to in a warm bath. Never understood why people liked them.

Did anyone see the comedy show that did a cover of it called "Sheep"

    "But I'm a sheep".

Don't remember which show it was but I nearly had a stroke watching it, I was laughing so hard.
