Hey Grant,
Havnt seen them anywhere else. The guys/girls at Boyds on Te Rapa Straight are awsome. Always get a great deal. The jeans look just as good if not better than the Draggin jobs. They advised me only those and Draggin jeans are the real deal as far as the full compliment of legit kevlar. A lot of other kevlar branded jeans just use a cotton/kevlar blend. And these Rev-it ones have a ticket price of 199.00 which is way cheaper.
The Draggin ones I wanted were 329.00.... Way too much.
Will be buying a pair Thursday so will let ya know what there like.
Cheers![]()
I don't think that's actually the case. Both the Teknic and Quasi's kevlar jeans are the real deal as well.
The only ones I know of that are kevlar woven with cotton are the Shift ones. They have the bonus of not having the big seams everywhere though but you get the kevlar in the entire jean as a result...
No idea how much difference it really makes in the end. All kevlar jeans are useless at protecting impact unless you add armour so it's just abrasion resistance. The cotton/kevlar mix in the Shift's might actually work for all I know.
I bought a pair of Power Jeans and the quality is very good. The knee part can open and you can put some armor in there, i bought their armor although really good it is not suited for the jeans as it was hard to get the foot back up on the foot peg due to the bulk. I got some precurved armor from www.lifestyle-imports.co.nz and they work really good, couldn't be more pleased.
The jeans came from Israel and they have got some at a cheaper price but only 2 sizes you will find them on the left side of the page under Reduced Price.
And at under $100NZD landed in NZ not a bad price.

Well I dont know about any tests but some armour/ kevlar has to be way better than none.
Don't know about these ones but have been wearing draggin's everyday to work and back and for blasts on the weekend and definitely make me feel more comfortable than plain denim - seem to be wearing well too.
I've got a pair of the Shift kevlar jeans. Had a fall the other day no signs of wear on them. Can't say the same for my knee though.
I chose them mainly for the look. I quite often wear them out even though I'm not on the bike. Saves buying another pair of jeans as well.;o)
QUASiMOTO have 100% Kevlar in them, they are made by the same factory as what makes the AGV brand Sliderz and are in my opinion a better fit and style to the draggins.
Come and check them out at home Mr Mount, happy to show you
Ive run out of fucks to give
Hey Quassie,
Sorry (bites lip) but Boyds did me a deal I couldnt resist. Exactly the same kevlar inserts as Draggins maybe even more Kevlar... Motomail was guna charge me 329 for the new draggins... These look almost identital to the silverbacks except blue-ish... Bloody well put together too. I have heard a lot of good things about your kevlar jeans tho and will look into buying a second pair in the future... Will have to give yours a go!![]()
Icon make the Best riding jeans I've ever had. Though they are use layers of Aramid as opposed to kevlar for contact points, they do use quality materials and proper reinforced stitching/panels so they're tough as guts and have an extremely comfortable and great loose fit. The real deal. I also have a pair of draggin Jeans and the Icons are much more substantial - and - much cheaper. I recommend the Superduty cargos and the Recons
I get them from the states- around US$80 - $100 + US$19.00 shipping (~1 week)
