Only you 2 know what happened. Remember he was trying to help you out and he did pay for the things to be rectified so what is the issue.
Maybe you just misunderstood things?
Calling someone a liar is pretty bad and at worst it just sounds like there was a misunderstanding here. You are basically telling Frosty to apologise for lieing which in itself is very arrogant
It was a misunderstanding by the sounds of it. Frosty paid for stuff to be fixed. What's the problem, move on.
Sorry
There's obviously 2 sides to the story here.
You Auckland guys are well impressed with Frosty's willingness to help you guys out, tis a great thing.
Helen's pissed off that she was a lied to, tis another thing.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
Doesn't sound to me like a case of a simple misunderstanding. Someone was asked a simple question, and the answer was not only untrue, but a lie.
If you guys want to start voicing you support for Frosty here, and i commend you for your loyalty to someone who has done so much, you are going to open a few wounds as well.
This is one stone better left unturned.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
Take some responsibility, ma'am.
The bike wasn't Tony's; he knew no more about it than you did. He's a very busy man (believe me!) who was acting as a go-between to arrange a deal between you and another acquaintance of his.
He put a fair amount of effort into sorting those things out, and when you whinged and bleated and tried to get him to give you the kind of service that one would expect from a bike shop charging you twice the price and creaming a profit out of it, he bent over backwards, paid to fix the consumables on the bike, even offered you a full refund.
Did he make a cent of profit off that sale price? Did you pay him a single dollar, a single box of beer, in return for the hours he put into hooking you up with the seller and then making sure that the bike was WOF-worthy and ran OK?
The situation with the 'prepurchase' is very much a "he said, she said" situation, as far as I can tell. Accusaties of 'lies' are far too easily thrown about, in my experience. What I want to know is why you failed to call an Auckland bike shop, book it in for the check, and then arrange for Tony or someone else to take it there (not to mention paying whoever did the running-around for their time).
If you didn't do the above, then you must take responsibility for any work needing to be done on the bike after you bought it. Sorry, Tony didn't make any profit, he's not a bike shop; he doesn't owe you any duty of care.
This is the real world. Harden the fuck up.

He said, she said. Perhaps you think that Helen is infallable and would never hysterically misrepresent a situation. Personally, my experience is that many women often do. (Heck, many men, even.)
He said, she said.
I give no weight or credence to such things.
All I know is, I'm hearing someone complain because someone did something for them for free that didn't quite live up to bike-shop warranty standards. Well, tough shit. If you want that level of assurance, you pay for it.

Frosty - I have known you since you helped me get into my second car a fair few years ago now..(be at least 5 years ago) way before I even started riding. Even then you talked about bikes have always been a top bloke. I'm always referring people to you for cars ..although that got tricky when you moved yards for a bit!![]()
The amount of times you have helped me out, the amount of advice and kind words you have given me... Then I look at all the other people posting up how much you have helped them...
Frosty your a top bloke - KB needs you. Bikers need you.
Dont let other peoples negativity infect you - they will get what they deserve if they have done wrong. Just like when you do good things for others - good things happen to you. Natural balance.
Oh and remember.. im just at the bottom of the hill from you if you ever need someone to pass you spanners!!!![]()

Frosty, congratulations on being you, I am merely an observer, but had the fortune of meeting you once at a trackday. You blew me away with your motivation and enthusiasm towards the trackday and the KB community. Your generosity and integrity cannot be questioned, it is clear that you are a genuine guy with only the best intentions.
Str8 Jacket, I find your grudge against Frosty appalling... Your latest thread is worded in a way which blames Frosty for a lack of fuel in your bike, you also seem to blame him for the fact you have finance on the bike. Get real! Look at the real issues, not your issues. There was obviously an error made by Frosty in not getting the full inspection, which he admits and regrets, but at the same time it sounds like he acted in good faith to the best of his abilities. You got burnt and it was unfortunate, I do not see any reason in lynching Frosty, If Frosty leaves, it is a significant loss to the KB community.
All I know is an old piece of munt had the better part of $10000 waved at it to get it into a semblance of running order, including purchase price.
Paul bears Tony no ill will. Helen and Paul have both had a lot to deal with and still do. They both fall into the category of the 1 in 3 people who'll get or have Cancer. People you know. Cut them both a break, and stop pissing on the good work Paul's done around this whole nasty cock up.
Tony tried to do someone a favour and didn't cover his arse well enough - he has a lesson there to learn, and I betcha he's learned. He's not stupid.
Helen is Helen. Take her or leave her, but I'm pretty sure I would have reacted badly to the situation if I knew I was crook and the bike that was supposed to be therapy that I bought through a trusted friend (albeit a virtual friend) wasn't what I expected.
Paul took both these shitty situations and turned it into something extraordinarily generous, deeply educational, thoroughly inspiring (I know - I have a Katana 400 parked outside with a new WoF and me and nudemetalz did all the work. I wouldn't have even begun to try without Paul's inspiration), and for him, brilliantly therapeutic.
Now pick your toys up, put them back in the cot, and stop picking that scab.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Not that being gay is bad - but you obviously don't like women, and you're stickin up for your mate rather passionately.
Some times when things like this happen there are those who throw water on to cool things off, then there are those who pour on the petrol and in flame things.
Perhaps we should think about where this thread is going and what was the point of it, and how can we all contribute to a positive outcome? Sounds like Paul’s been trying to do just that
