Yea but I'm sure he wudnt hit you with more than you deserve. I dont c him ticketing me for 110 on the motorway in cruisy traffic. Its the bs charges that I dont like, when I'm wrong , I'm wrong. Period. I'm man enough to face them as they come. I was v impressed. Only 2 other car cops have been nice to me in the past; didn't ticket me for doing 61 in a 50 coz I was safe as. Ginger on the other hand.... hes a baiting nub.

Update: Got pulled over by a muffti tonight comin back from shopping for the weeks groceries. Roads were empty just the two of us... I was sitting at 65 crusing along thinkin how heavy my bag felt (he was stealthy as and as I hadn't intended on a hoon left my radar at home). He checks me out, pulls me over but does not ticket me, in fact is very friendly. Almost like how ud go upto another biker with a bike u thought looked fine and ask him all about it. .... only he was in uniform and his cage had flashing lights and his partner kept lookin at me like he wanted to arrest me!! Even shakes my hand and introduces himself ... again I am taken aback and start babblin like a retard...Lets just leave it at that >.< Just goes to show that there are good cops out there too folks so respect them for who they r and not what u think they are....has really changed my opinion on cops in general....have a rethink folks.... petty generilisation is for the uneducated.

On saying this... he could have pinged you when you hit 55kph
I dont mind being pulled over for no reason other than checking out my licence/rego. If it means down the track they're recovering more stolen bikes (potentially mine if the situation arose) and disqualified drivers, thats cool with me.
Only been pulled once ever on the bike, and his reason (I shit you not) was that I looked a bit "dodgy". Hahahahaa.
Actually, there is no legal requirement for Police to have lights and siren activated at any time. Nor Fire and Ambo. There are departmental rules, but these do not extend to a legislative requirement.
If there is, could you please point me to the appropriate legislation.

sorry SD - i had to edit there - fire and ambo do NOT have to have L & S on - they have policy to say they shall, but the LT Act does not require it.
There may not be a requirement for cops to use lights and sirens, but they have a requirement to follow road rules the same as everyone else. There is no specific exclusion in the Land Transport Act for members of the emergency services. Section 10 of the act is entitled "Road users and others to comply with ordinary rules and emergency rules". The section simply reads: "A person must comply with the rules".
There are specific exclusions for certain offences and penalties, however. For instance, section 95(6) states that the mandatory suspension of a licence for 28 days for speeding offences does not apply if the vehicle "... was conveying a member of the Police in the execution of urgent duty, if compliance with the speed limit would be likely to prevent or hinder the execution of that duty".
So in SkidMark's aforementioned example (assuming the provided details are correct), following him for 2kms at under 60kph just in case he happened to go any faster would not count as urgent duty in anyone's book.
Its not how I ride, It's 'what' I ride dude !
Isn't the first time either that I've been pulled simply for a friendly chat.
I like meeting friendly officers... he liked to speed in his mufti off the lights though, easily 65 in a 50 with lights off... but then again apparently they don't need their lights and maybe he was late for a drug bust and couldn't compromise his position.... never know![]()
