Great to see the welly wed night ride crew again. Had a great ride up and down the hill to meet you all, then back home to Masterton with a wee detour (cheers Skel) and dinner with the rapa crew (cheers elle)

out of interest how was the wind going over the hill? i wasn’t really in the rite frame of mind for a ride and the wind here (Jville) pretty much sealed the deal.

Not too bad. Needed a bit of caution on the usual corners, but nothing too troublesome.

Was a great ride, cheers guys. Sorry for the slowness on the way down the hill, but I had flashbacks of being pushed over by the wind.... just got to stop being such a baby when there is a bit of a gust, not that I am defending myself for being cautious. Anyway, need the practice, and a bit of self confidence on that hill... guess I will be on it a lot this summer!

Hopefully I see you guys next Wednesday!

    ps pizza was yummy!!!

Oh and thanks skelly for riding in front and kinje behind me when I realised my headlight wasn't working.

Cheers Skel* and Str8, i love my new bike. As for looking confident on it hmmm, still coming to grips with the power and weight but its been nice and gentle riding so far. Had a good ride back with Pete, damn those guys can ride. I did my best and just pootled along and Pete waited for me so all was good. Was actually the fastest ive taken my Futura and it was great to see that it sticks bloody well to the road.

Cheers for the ride and hope like hell i can get out again next week.

PS - Cheers for the offer of Pizza Elle, but i thought prolly best to get going as i only had my tinted visor with me.

Fuggit, I knew it, turn yer back for a couple of weeks and some bastard eats all the pizza. Jeez you bastards are tight with the grub, no cake and no pizza. I've now officially got the pip.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

I'm in a really pompous mood thanks to this (as Deano has pointed out in another thread) and I can only come across as a grumpy pompous arse by saying anything. I comment about how other people ride, based on second hand information (albeit my wife whom I trust in this) and yet I whinge about other people doing the same. I know I'm doing it.

But the Wednesday night ride should be calm, collected, and gentle. If you want to behave like a cock you could try it on the Thursday night ride, but I think you'd most probably be behaving like a cock a long way behind the the Welly Fast Crew. Who'd be having good safe, clean, FAST, fun. Not riding so slowly you irritate the crap out of a middle-aged woman in a Renault Megane Scenic for goodness sake.
You have me confused with someone else Jim. I ride over the hill at a speed that is safe for me. On Wed, when I reached the top, I followed both Elle and Lissa down to Featherstone, keeping a decent distance back and never once putting myself or Lissa/Elle at risk. At no point did I ride 'ride like a cock'. I ride 'my' ride not someone elses. And I certainly don't try to be something I'm not. Who the f^&* do you think you are!
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

I wasn't talking about you Hawkeye, and I think you've read what I wrote completely wrong.

The first sentence was in response to your post. Read it in that context and it will make sense.

Who do I think I am? A husband whose wife and kids were put at risk by a bunch of motorcyclists - but not you, I wasn't talking about you, I wasn't addressing anything to you. Calm down.

You were good for playing TEC and naughty for following Lissa's butt.
