Hey skidMark! where is your list? lol
I think this thread is for you!
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Had a 1987 KLR 250
then a 1985 xt 400
then a 1987 gpz 750
Then a 1998 gsx 600
Now a 2004 bandit 1200
I dont think thats bad steps there was 8-9 years between the 750 and 600
Looking for a project at the mo
Maybe a cb 750 sound motor and just cosmetics to paint
First bike was a 1981 GSX250 paralell twin, Got her when I was 15. Saved up all my herald run money for a whole year and paid $1200 for the old pig!. Didnt tell the olds I was gettin a bike and boy was the old man dark! wouldnt even let me bring it on the property at first! Would just do the ton at red line (10000rpm) in top! Bit of a dog but lots of good times had on the old girl.
then;
KR1 250 88 model Went like a rocket and handled sweet!
1985 XR350RF (the dry sump model) what a primo bike that was! Rode it hard out at woodhill in the free ride days! super fun first trail bike.
1990KX500. What a hoot! Bought this bike when i was 19, Top gear wheelstands anyone? This bike could do it no worries! Boy I thiought i was the king!
1986GSXR1100G Got her when i was 21, thought i was the wheelstand king after coming off the KX so used to try and wheel stand everywhereEventually looped the old girl showing off outside a pub at closing one nite, my mate said afterwards "i thought you'd gone back a bit far when i could see ur headlights pointing at me" He was following me at the time... Oh well ur only 21 once i guess.
After that i had a
81 CB900F
84 GS1100G shaft drive
another XR350RF cause i liked the first one so much
A 1990 XR200
!990 XR600
1995KLX650R
1990GSXR1100K Super quick motor but i dont rekon the chassis could cope!
1997KDX220 that was my first brand new bike, super reliable and lots of good honest trail bike fun, Go nearly anywhere bike!
2001 Gas Gas EC300. Super quick Trail/race bike, best handling bike ive ever had by a long margin!
2001 XR650 super motard, heaps of fun on the street that one! Ohh the stories....
2000 TL1000S
1995 CBR900 streetfighter (still got it)
1984 GSX1100S Katana with a few mods and very low kms (still got it)
And my 2001 ZRX1200R... Which is currently parked up awaiting some new parts after my little accident.
So thats it for now. Im currently going thru the process of justifying my next motorcycle purchase... i'm trying to convince myself (and the better half) that we need a KTM Superduke R.... Wish me luck!
first bike was a thrashed out kwaka 350 S2 drum bike model so didn't stop quick but it was fast in its day and chewed hugh amounts of oil and gas. This bike pumped out so much smoke that on a calm day I could stop traffic on both lanes of the motorway - fuck it was funny - also first licence loss
next came a new CZ 400 2 stroke off roader
then long break travel family bills etc
then new ZXR 750 H2 - then the Fireblade came out and after riding my mates one at Taupo race track traded up to one as well
then short break
currently 07 RMZ450 and 07 SV1000S - riding priority is the RM at organised trail rides and when nothing on finish running in the SV - can't wait to start canning it
I'm sure I've done this before, but anyway
