So, I'd just like to thank all you guys for making this one hell of a year. In many ways, for me it's been a shit of a year with Gayelene's death and the subsequent bullshit, but you guys have been a huge help in turning that around with the great rides, support, and company. So thanks. A lot

I'm off to Africa on Tuesday so won't see most of you before then, so have a very happy Christmas and a great New Year. Be safe, and looking forward to many more great times in 2008
Congrats on being a whore mate Have a good trip, dont hassle them pilots too much eh

Thinking of heading east or north somewhere, very very short notice so I dont expect any takers, it all happened pretty quickly.
If it does go i'll miss the Ace (, despite some obvious short comings it's a great bike.
    hmmmmm trading the ace huh

About time someone spilled the beans. Obviously no one in the Ashhurst crew knows cause you know we cant keep a secret!

But have inquired to most of the manawatu bike dealerships on the 08 black birds and prices etc ,because im looking into possibly purchasing one in the near future
IMHO, the linked brakes are just fine, simply not an issue. If you were in the top 5% of fast riders then maybe you would get a better result but for everyday riding, they are great. Some good deals on 'birds at present as manufacturing has stopped. The new one are just run-outs with no replacement in sight yet. Some of my mates from the UK Blackbird website have covered way over 200000 km without major engine work. A testament to their reliability.

Weather on friday is looking ok (at this stage), if I close the deal this week you could well find out then if we do a evening ride.
Don't think anyone is going to be too surprised.

Could be keen to do this too, will know sooner to the date.
I'll have firm up a route for the Hawkes Bay ride I mentioned a couple of weeks back and post it up in meetings and events.
Might be a mission for me on the new bike, that way I can check what it will do on a tank of go juice, it's got a smaller tank than the Ace so I reckon the fuel light will come on before the 200k mark for sure.
