Welly even more so. Really enjoyed my 2 days there on the way to / from the south island, and our company has plenty of job opportunities in the area so I'm seriously considering moving down there.

Only a Wellingtonian would take pictures of storm clouds and think it's a good thing.

Wellington is the arse of NZ. It's a sleepy town overflowing with brain deprived civil servants. It's biggest asset is the fault line.

We did some consulting to the Earthquake Commission a fews years back. We diplomatically pointed out that they are in the risk business and their head office was in a tall building on reclaimed land in a city just waiting for the big one.

    Isn't half of Te Atatu?

Every time we have a big one we get more land. We need a big one so we can have a longer runway and get the big planes.

Yes about that, Auckland is only joined to the rest of the Nth Island thanks to 52 Volcanoes. There's no such thing as a dormant or extinct volcano either.

There's a few tall buildings down the end of Queen St on reclaimed land too.

Wellington is only joined to the North Island because Auckland said it could.

All the tall buildings down the end of Queen St are mainly Insurance Co's and Banks. In the event of a major earthquake, this is a good thing.

    Gorgeous photos!
I was born in the 'Naki, moved to HB and absolutely love this little corner of the world, but, no doubt about it Wellington is a stunning city, and unlike Auckland, has character, depth, and culture.
Auckland is like a brash spoiled teenager, all piss and wind....with apologies to Aucklanders, of course!

They're just locations, you know. Places.

What is it that you don't like about Auckland?

The traffic is a usual complaint, but it becomes meaningless when one is on two wheels.

So, that aside... what don't you like about Auckland?
