Suzuki GN250 Spark Plug

I know there must be a bloody obvious answer to getting a GN250 spark plug out but the "helpfull" team at Cycletreads had no idea.

Is it just a ring spanner with a cranked end or some weird Suzuki tool??

Whaddya mean they didn't know?!?!
It's the same way you get all spark plugs out of their annoyingly deep holes, with the appropriate-sized spark plug wrench.

I cannot believe a bike shop didn't know that. You must be mistaken.

That kind of Wrench won't fit, there's no room cos of the fins on the head.

An open ender is too wide as there isn't any room round the flats and a flat ring spanner wouldn't have room to turn. So I thought a cranked ring might do it but I don't want to go dragging round to find one and then splash out $$ to pay for it if:
a) It won't work
b) There's a better way to do it

Bizzare! I guess I just had the tool that came with the bike and never thought it was different from a long socket.

I just used a standard spark plug socket and extender to a ratchet. All in my standard socket set. Nothing fancy at all.

I'd much rather have the snap-on one in your link, that's a piece of engineering!!!

The problem seems to be that the forged wrenches I've tried are too thick to squeeze into the space, possibly cos the Socket was 1/2 inch drive rather than 3/8 or 1/4. I'm going to try a box spanner from Holeshot and see if that works.

a tip for getting sparkplugs out if the dont come out with the socket after youve undone it

the amount of times ive seen people trying to do it with long nose pliers trying to grab a plug down a hole....

until i used my brain

get the plug undone...it it doesnt pull out with the socket nd is left in the hole....

get the lead cap....stick it back down the hole....clip it onto the plug ....pull it back up and...tadaa plug comes with it...

Nah I had a GN and did the plug myself using the tool in the pix. The powerbuilt or what ever the brand from supercheap worked. I just parked the bike out the front and the guy let me try them till I found one that fitted. It looked like the snapon one but was $9 . It fits no worries onto the plug and allows you to attach an extension then the drive ratchet tool with plenty of clearance.

I do indeed have fat sockets!!!

I'm guessing you hardcore bikers are using 3/8 drive sockets, I did a quick compare and the diameter of my 1/2 drive 18m socket is about 4mm bigger and therefore won't fit in the damn gap!!!

I shall try the nice slim version this weekend and hopefully all this will be resolved without further tears and tanty's from yours truly!

Hi, unfortunately to many different size plugs about....So to make it easy and painless, go buy new plug and buy correct size long reach socket with it...( or whatever tool you want to use in future) that way you know you have the right size, and you should put spare plug and puller in your toolkit anyway.....
