he prob waited till they had already turned round before trying to piss off...

the moment a cop goes past ...if your doing sumthing wrong....when those brake lights come on you should be already fucking gone.

helps to know the area though.

but you know i wuldnt know cus ive never done one.

    Incident Type: Police pursuit crash

A male motorcyclist has crashed attempting to avoid a pursuing police unit in Waitakere City this evening at 8.10pm. The motorcyclist had refused to stop for the marked police patrol that had activated warning lights and sirens. The pursuit, which continued for 2 - 3 minutes at moderate to high speeds, ended when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed at the intersections of Parrs Cross and Henderson Valley Roads. The motorcyclist suffered serious leg and shoulder injuries and has been taken to Auckland Hospital. A police serious crash unit is investigating the crash and the Police Complaints Authority will be informed.
    Issued By: Inspector William Taylor
Well Im guessing that the rider doesn't know those roads too good at all.
A roundabout is there....... as Parrs Cross Rd goes up a hill and turns off into what you would call a side street but it is still Parrs Cross Road..... down to the roundabout into Henderson Valley Rd.

Henderson Valley Road goes in both directions at that roundabout....One way leads out to a nice scenic windy roads.... the other way heads back into Henderson. Or if you went off up the other way it is heading up to Border Rd/Palamino Drive up to Sturges Rd.

Not sure from which direction the rider was coming from.... but he must have lost it at the roundabout.....

Most of the ones I've seen are controlled by an old-fashioned bicycle gear shift lever and cable.

The plate has a hinge along the top edge. You simply push the shift lever up or down and the cable takes care of the rest.

Edit - Forgot to add that some folks simply put a hinge on the top edge of their plate. Once they hit a high enough speed the plate becomes horizontal due to the surrounding air-stream. Once they slow down, it reverts to a vertical orientation.

Dunno. What about the cop who follows and catches you at high speed then watches in amazement as your rego plate miraculously changes as your speed drops? How much of an offence is it if caught?

You must be a local Crashe. I live on the windy bit of Henderson Valley Road.

I went past it yesterday, I think he actually binned at the intersection of Parrs Cross and Pine Ave. Judging by the paint on the road, and the lack of paint at the HVR and Parrs Cross intersection. It looks like he was coming Parrs Cross into Pine Ave (left, at the bottom), went wide and hit a car (again, judging by the paint on the road).

Dunno if the current requirements have "at all speeds" in them.

Yep I too did wonder if it was Pine Ave and Parrs Cross Road intersection.

The little bit of road called Pine Ave does confuse a lot of people, as they think it is part of Parrs Cross Road. Blardy street planners..... confusing the cops as to what is the actual name of the street where the incident happened.

Your stretch of windy road is nice as it leads back up to the back of Ranui way and that new roundabout near the railway lines and that newish stretch of road that went in a few years back....(heaps of bikes are always on the stretch of road). You have got a nice vineyard right at your backdoor as well..... to go for a feed and a wee sip.

(Is that second hand dealer still there on the corner?)

Yeah, there are some nice rides around here. 10 minutes and you are in the middle of the Waitakeres or on your way to Bethells Beach.

Don't tell everyone else though, keep it a secret for Westies.

No, don't think there is a second hand dealer that way. If there was, I'd be there half the time.
