Yeah I checked out Lincoln, quite nice. Rather be in a town though so its easier for the Mrs. who doesn't drive. From memory it only has a 4 Square too, she'll want a full blown supermarket or I'm toast. And I like the city itself, it does hold a really strong resemblance to Adelaide.
I might have to take you up on that mate.
I don't know where (or even if) I'll be working down there at this stage, we're just thinking about a possible change of scenery... so where I might be commuting to is anybody's guess.
I checked out Kaiapoi (nice beach, river was sex on wheels) and Rakaia, nice, quiet, self sufficient, and good places to escape to but for some reason they just didn't click with me as places I should live. But I'll be back for another look, it may have been that I was a bit tired as they were my last stops after 12 hours of driving around the city today. At least they gave me 5 rashers of bacon in my Big Mac which was a bonus. I do know that if I decide to live by the sea it will be Kaiapoi and not anywhere along the New Brighton Shoreline or anywhere past that pain in the arse bottleneck called Ferrymead. BTW is it a bitch getting to the city from outside when it snows or is it all kept pretty clear?
I've been watching whats going where and for how much and its nowhere near as bad as you said in most cases. Those prices are for the flashest of the flash, my tastes are more modest.... I only want a house!
Oh come out to rolleston, town of the future! Got a supermarket and every thing for young familys. Easy commuting to chch.![]()
Well. A couple or three years turned into a couple or three weeks.
I chucked my job in last week, my house is going on the market, all my shit is getting packed to go in storage somewhere, see you all once I've settled in.
Anybody know of some cheapish accomodation I can stay in while sell my house up here and find a new one?
Heaps of rentals, just have to pick a price, sure someone will tell ya if the street/area is any good .hornby,cashmere,hoonhay,addington,templeton. If Ya stay central to start with, probably easier while Ya get yourself set up, make final discisions. Can't see ya having any regrets with the move.![]()
We'll miss you around here ShadowsGood luck with the move and the new beginnings!
Take care of him you Canterbury peoples!!

To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Should be a bit quieter in the Valley now! No more Harleys at KB rides I guess.
every weekend from friday till late sun hight I hear the bikes crusin past.
Almost got to the point of being able to tell the make and model from the sound.
Pluss is, dont have to go for a ride to talk with all sorts of riders from all over the world.
So the Valley not quiet, just purrs to the sounds of qaulity two wheelers.
forgot to add, 3 bedrooms here, I only use one
anyone wanting a stop over heading up or down the country, that offers a hot shower, bed, and undercover parking, give me a call.
Can fit 20 tents on the front lawn if needed.
100 yrds to and from the Pub.

Make it a bit easier. How much you want to spend? Lots go to the hills. Anywhere up there is fine. Or Fendalton.
Linwood, Aranui, bexley, not so good.
Avonhead = Asianhood (no offence just what its called locally)
Riccarton = Wickaton (say it with a chineese accent)
New Brighton average people
North shore (just like acukland they think)
South shore (nothing like auckland)
Papanui normal
Casebrook normal
Dont know much about the south west side.
Rangoria still thinks its a farming town (its not)
Oxford nice but a long way out
Kaipoi nice and growing
Pegasus town new and exciting.... if you like that sort of thing
