Hard to keep up with the good music when little of it ever makes it down here and is never played on the radio.
Where are you getting it from cause I can't find it anywhere.

Oh a little program called dc++ or its also called revconnect
    Just search for revconnect

    everything is on rev connect

Its a bit complicated to work but when you know how its just search and download

Ill try to give you pointers when you have downloaded it
    You need broardband .....
And theres simple initial set up
just read the screen and use the settings at the top

I dint get the whole album yesterday but ill have it all in 10 mins

How can you expect a band that you like to survive if you don't support them?

If you like the album, BUY IT, if not, DELETE IT.

Did you see on tv3 one night a while back ,there was a band playing here and when they found out how much we pay for there music down here .....at the end of the show he told everyone if they like there music to download it
.All cause our prices are to dear.

makes perfect sence to me ,after all ,shouldnt bands today be trying to make more money in other ways with music .
Ive seen some really good ideas ,but not all bands are doing it

Did you also know that in the states a band get aprox $1 off each cd sold the rest goes to the promotions team (warner) just as an example

When a band releases on there own back and creates a agent of there own they get aprox $6 per cd

so who are we ripping off ,the band we love

    NOT

You mean like selling out? There's a difference between earning just enough to live off so that you can continue to create your art, and improve the lives of those that appreciate it, against multi-million dollar product endorsements. Rage Against the Machine being sponsored by Coca-Cola? Yeah. Right.

Why should a band be forced into alternate revenue streams because you are too cheap to buy their album? Tours and Merchandising have always been big money-makers, but why would you dissolve a revenue stream for someone who's art that you appreciate?

Bullshit. Manufacturing costs, retailer mark-ups, shipping costs, production overheads, tax, licensing fees, etc etc etc.

Yes, you are. What's wrong with buying the album if you like it? If you don't like it, your not gonna listen to it, just delete it.

    if im wrong im wrong

but from what i have been told ,by someone in a shop selling music ,so they obviously can import it as well
A cd to buy here no mark up on our end is $14

now that was a time ago

so that 14 $ takes in to consideration all the above costs you said
and then the mark up on top for the price we pay
Ive seen it on tv and the amount the record lables take is massive
the lables are the ones wanting to stop pirate copying .its never the bands saying dont copy the music

Who made you the thought Police?

Was merely having an open-ended discussion. If you don't like where a thread progresses towards, don't read it.

    I started this thread.
I do think that give me a bit of say in what direction it takes.

You want to bitch about people downloading music, start your own thread.
