Speaking of A1GP - why isnt the idea of country versus country motorcycle racing being floated? im sure it would be just as big a hit.

What's the basis of comparison? Auckland to Wellington? My money's on the Boeing.

I'd love to agree, but motorcycle racing doesn't fare as well as car racing with the general public.

Wrap it up in some sort of 'reality' program and the eedjits will watch

It depends; have they got rid of that stupid "push to pass" feature that gives the engine maximum boost, but they're only allowed to used it x times per race?
Apart from that, yeah, they rock.

    For cars.

Nup - no passengers or freight, and a light fuel load.
The pilot said on the news (as did the commonpotator) that the car would lead initially, then the jet would own it once it got moving.
It's all dependent on the weather, which means that if it rains/drizzles/fogs/snows it'll be all off.
    So, it's all off.

On the gogglingbox, they also showed the previous item of A1GP exhibitionism, which was the A1GP car racing over the Harbour Bridge in the clip-on lanes. That must've been mind-bogglingly uncomfortable for the driver, as the road surface has these annoying hollows where each slab has sagged in the middle. It's irritating in a car or on a bike, so in a stiffly-sprung car with what? 2cm of suspension travel? it must've been really crap. For the few seconds the journey would've tooked.

Ha, didn't they showed the F1 (Ferrari?) racing the Euro Fighter in the wet on the news?

Hey, that sounds kinda cool! Adds a little more strategy to the show (cause doesn't f1 need that, badly)

Yeah the boost button is a great idea. All the teams get it, so it's up to the driver when he/she feels it is best to use it. Better than winning a race in the pit lane any day of the week.

The plane will win - unless they have to turn around at the end of the runway and go back to the start!.

Helps when you have two afterburning jet engines and a power to weight ratio much better then 1 to 1 eh!
