The hog riders started out in cars, until they reached 50 and suffered MLC and wanted to project a badass image.

HD stands for hand over ya dollars!!

Well I'm in the clear on this thread this is my first post. Just goes to show what other people from the wider community think of your shiny Harley's. Not very much by the looks. And yes don't at all feel intimidated by the owners they are just like you. But they got landed with a HD.

Why would any of you think anyone gives a flying shit what others "think" of their Harley.

    Pathetic.

Heres what I think of other peoples bikes, Nothing, Enjoy your ride.

And I'm nothing like most of the tossers in this thread.

    What's modern about them

What's modern about them Big Dave? They are still a piece of shiney shit like they were years ago. It took the Japs five minutes to stop that jack hammer problem shaking the fillings outa yer teeth. By rubber mounting the compressor. So nowadays Harley are copying the Jap cruisers for modern technology.

HD haven't learned much in 105 years re modern technology. But they have succeeded in brain washing the riders of them that they are far superior to the rest of the bikes on the planet!!

They all have 2 wheels and are fun to ride, so who really cares what we ride, just enjoy the ride

I could just rest my case, M'laird.

8,000km service intervals, self adjusting valves, carbon fibre belt drives, balanced engines, impressive handling (for a cruiser), superior finish, enviable re-sale, the motor-clothing - Much is understated and really well designed, the dealers,

    I'll add more later.

And for most of us, that is indeed the case.

Alas, however, for those few who seem consumed with hatred of diversity.

Those who haunt these types of threads, gleeful with the opportunity to put down another's ride of choice.

You will see them hovering in the Cruiser section, intent on finding the next chance to impress themselves with their witty put-downs.

There's no solution unfortunately - such people could only get a balanced outlook by getting a chip on their other shoulder.

Makes ya wonder what sort of world the anti-brigade would like, one where all bikes were the same?, Just to remove the choice of rides from other people?

If I don't like a specific bike, or manufacturer, I simply don't buy one....

To campaign against a brand would have to be the past time of someone with a few mental issues, or perhaps just an idiot with no money, and a crap life, desperately trying to knock others off some imagined high-horse in order to prop up there pathetic ego.

in other words, a knob end.

I don't think anyone would argue with that statement. However I don't believe I have seen anyone actually campaigning against any particular brand. Can you give an example?

While I reject the "loser" assertion, I did have an opportunity to have ride on a Harley (model unknown, older bike though) over the break.

I was genuinely pleased (desperate even) to get off it!

That does not mean I am going to rubbish all Harleys!

This one was about 18yrs old but in good condition and well looked after.

During the ride I was thinking, there must be one hell of a difference between this and the "Fat Bob" that enthused Big Dave to name it pick of the years bikes!

I am now quite keen to pick up a chance of a demo sometime just to see if I can concur with Dave's findings on Fat Bob and modern Harleys.

I had ridden a full dresser touring Harley previously and recall really enjoying it!

Anyway if it's got two wheels and it is someones pride and joy, I am not going be judgemental about their bike! Viva la difference! I say. Cheers John.
