Rear-ended by not looking cage driver

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Just picked bike up from it's service. Stopped at the line, waiting for gap in traffic. Spotted gap coming up, got ready to merge out ......next freakin second....F...KN WHAM, car behind decides fuck this I'm going over me, and plants his foot. Straight into the back of my bike.

Shunted forward about a 1mtr, 1mtr 1/2. Almost went over, managed to keep it from hitting tarmac......!!!!!!!!

His exscuse...."Thought you had gone already", and "It's a rental, I don't give a fuck"........Nothing about if I was okay or anything............or the fact that he had hit me...

After taking quite a few deep breaths and resisting the urge to inflict bodily harm. Went back around to bike shop and got them to check it out........NO DAMAGE....Thank f...k.......

Just thought I would share............in need of a really good vent.....

WOW, that was very lucky! Good for you...

I still cannot comprehend people making that mistake (rear ending) and still implying it's not their fault...

Good on you for not stomping the moron!

Ring your insurance company and report it.

    And the Police.

And maybe a quick check up at a hospital just in case.

You never know what hidden damage there may be, to you or the bike.

Glad you're OK though, we don't need any more bikes down....

Yeah, report it anyway, they use the stats regardless of whether they need to take action or not

    On my trail bike...

I had a bus drive onto my rear tyre so that I couldn't move forward, as the bumper of the bus was wedged on top of my tyre. Said bus had to reverse so that I could actually get moving...

    Cheers All.......

Mully..... No not a "copper", as such. Have filled in a report as is required, so all is good there. Other party will get a visit to confirm details and if needed will receive the fine.....

Gotta say - impressed as to how the tyre absorbed a good deal of the impact...Going to replace it though...
And as Str8 mentioned, damm lucky it could have been a hell of a lot worse...

Glad you are ok, can't believe how common this is.
I have been rear ended a couple of times on bikes, both invovled rapid departure from the seat and introduction to the tarmac, and still people say "I didn't see you...". grrrrrrr

    Easy done

I've done exactly that to another cage - see them start to take a gap, start moving forwards whilst looking away to spot the next gap and -SHUNT!- they've changed their mind...

Yep. Did that also (in my car) when I was 18.

Blamed it on all sorts like the way he took off at speed right out into the intersection (before stopping). And the plants in the traffic island I had to look past while checking if it was also safe for me to go. (Both of us left-turning at T-intersection).

But really, it was just my fault.
