I to use to live in Glenfield, I lived in Bentley ave for the first 20yrs of my life. I can't believe what a shit hole Glenfield has become. I remember going to the Glenfield mall quite a few times on Friday nights last year and thinking where are all these little gangster shits coming from. I also remember hearing of little old ladies getting their handbags snatched as they where shopping.

The ones in custody aren't proven guilty yet. Name suppression will be lifted once that happens, I've no problem with that. But I do expect to see their skin peeled from their bodies with a vegetable peeler, and the footage shown nationwide to remind other arseholes that their actions are not tolerable. I live in hope.

imagine at the point the "gangster" at the victims car window said "we are just going around bashing people" instead of the guy in the car grabbing his keys to stick into the ignition to get them both outa there (the keys never reached the ignition) but instead he was able to pull out his pepper spray and spray it at the guy.

Girlfriend lives on the shore, and is really frightened by all of this. I live in Mangere Bridge, which is one thing I suppose, with its proximity to South Auckland and lower socio-economic areas with all of the problems that go with that, but Milford? Jesus. The restaurant I work for in Parnell has a branch in Milford; when I've worked there I'm always happy as I get to finish early -- all the customers are pleasant mild old retirees who go to bed at 9.30pm.

She catches the bus home at night, father always picks her up from the bus-stop, despite being 21, she's that kind of girl... to hear about this really put her in a spin.

I mean, an assault or mugging is one thing, but the brutality of it was what made me pay attention. Perhaps it was just the media's spin on it, but the way they were chased with bats; and they weren't robbed either -- or part of some opposing `gang'.

I mean of all places, you think you'd be safe in Milford.

Children are so over protected these days that they don't learn "natural consequences". Then they go off to school etc and the PC namby pamby BS means they don't learn "logical consequences" either. There was a spate of random acts of violence in Dunedin a while ago too. Kids were driving around in cars looking for some isolated innocent victims walking along the street, and for no reason pile out of their car and beat the shit out of them. They were probably copying some wank American trends they had seen on youtube and suchlike. It is a bit of a rage at the moment.

My next door neighbours kid was attacked on Friday night in Castor Bay - on the Shore.

Good news - he broke the Jaw of the asshole who attacked him.

Bad News - The guy found out where he lived and turned up with 10 mates and his mom (who looked high on P) on Sunday.

Luckily I happened to be building when they turned up (which is how I approached the young man with a piece of 2x4 timber).

Cops called and charges laid - but I was surprised to see Mom coming out with them for the bashing - just goes to show that being scum is hereditary.
