Hmm back in 2003 I sold my RG150 for $1,500 nothing wrong it (1998 model which most of them tend to be) and less K's than yours).

I also paid less for it when I brought it (got it at a steal) personally I wouldn't pay much more than a grand for an RG especially when you never know if theyve been raced by previous owners or not.

But to be honest who knows less RG's around now so maybe that makes them worth abit more I remember the pistons etc.. being hard to get for the RG's and people in france were always interested in our Rg150's as they shared the same bore size as some 500CC over there.

They're appreciating due to the learners market. All the 250's are way out of reach for most people so they're turning to the good ol' 150's.

Then again I sold 2 RG's to Koba for $1500. Needed the money to keep the newly aquired 400 going, didn't want to get rid of them really. One was in pieces with a seized engine and the other wasn't so mint, but I still reckon that was a steal. At least I managed to get my minimoto's with some of the money

I'm keen to get another 150 when I can afford it. Especially a KRR150, they're awesome.

It tends to lose a bit of accuracy at 180kph from experience. However I have heard of people fiddling with the standard engine (37hp) and squeezing 45 or more ponies out of them.

The instruments are the same ones as the RGV250 I think.

    150cc, 180kph you say?

And yeah, GPX speedo only has 200 clicks, 30 of which are completely useless

Having owned one of these I feel qualified (enough) to comment...which isn't very qualified but it seems you don't have to be 'all knowing' to contribute in this place anyway Infact it's more fun for the more crap you can talk ...must get post count up

Firstly I'd say GOOD LUCK getting a figure of 2-3K...from memory they were 3k new and that is a shite load of k's. Recall having to rebuild (well hubby actually did but I did observed and made sandwiches ) mine a few times...how many times you rebuilt this one?[/SIZE])

...also maybe I'm just being blunt...well actually no I am blunt ...they are effing ugly in that particular colour scheme!!! Had the exact same one...though I do remember being pleased to find nail polish in that particularly 'special' shade of purple and orange...hmmm purple and bright orange - funky!

The learner market might be a bit dry 250's but if you consider that people can go out and buy better, faster and way cooler (oh and better smelling! 2 stroke YECH!) second hand bikes for about the same money I'd expect you'd be catching someone with their brain switched off to pay that much. YAY for Trademe!!!

Personally - If I was to consider a 150 I'd go for the KR.

That would be my estimate. I sold my 2003 KRR150 for ~$2450 ($2200 plus a new set of tyres for the sherpa) in October.
Maybe I would have got more if I'd listed it on trademe, but I suspect not.
2-stroke 150's are cool little bikes, but learners, not knowing so much about motorbikes, tend to suspect that they are high-maintenance, slow moving, handgrenades. And thus don't want to sink much money into one.
