Don't police officers get any training these days?

    OK (flicking between the two)
TV1. Lead item was "the funeral" and this went on for about 8mins or so. Small item later on with "few details".
TV3. Lead item with reporter on the scene. Footage of scene, helicopter taking off to ferry "the accused" to Waikato. Should have gone by road imho... then "more details as it comes to hand.
Later in the news an update with a few details of the "lead collector" as reported from the hospital, age/injury etc.

Difference: On the scene, with details and no speculation.
TVNZ probably had all of their reporters in Parnell?

So, sort of "have a shower before you go on a burglary/shooting spree" sort of thing?
Possibly a good idea. Should they clean their teeth as well?

whats more fun is just shooting one kneecap. That way next time they try running away they just end up going in little circles.

It's a no brainer people,point/fire a firearm and risk fatal consequences.

The cops first on the scene don't know the mindset of the accused,re suicidal/martyr syndrome. And if stoned/pissed(not suggesting he was) what good is asking the guy to put down his weapon,he fired at them, put yourself in the cops position, what would you do?

Cops allways cop it(no pun)from media and we allways hear the accused details first, the cops never get to present their case at the same time,so a distorted view is formed,of course there will be the ones who say the guy was a typical guy, didn't deserve to be shot, etc.Ffs he shot at people.

What this guy did was wrong, i agree, and deserves what he gets, we have a thing in our society where we think guns and violence is cool, ive never been one to back down from a fist fight and have ended up in hospital a few times, I was in the army for 6months and the only reason im not there is because I was injured,
You can call me a churchy or whatever you like and yes im proud to say i am christian but far from perfect,
But you guys saying shoot him kill him ect,
Dont you think that it would be better to try to clense people before they go doing these sorts of things?
This isnt just this "1" person this is about all the violence in our world its fine to come on here and say things like you hate this sort of thing but what do you do about it?
When you see these forums and you rant and rave how much you dont like to see this happen in our country what do you do about it?
You see people on the steet fighting what do you do about it?
you see the "gangster kids" on the street and the majority of you despise them ,
Talking about using a M2 rocket launcher do you even no what thoes things can do?
No im not sticking up for the kid involved, he is my age but i call him a kid because he is not acting like a man.
I cant understand how you can condemn any one to anything when you havnt taken the time to think why?
I can go on all day about this but unfortunatly I have a job,
I just ask people to think before they day things and i understand posting this will get a few nasty replys.
You should have posted this under the "Are you PC" thread it applies equally well to both and is the reason NZ is stuffed.

If you want to live that type of lifestyle then you deserve to be shot in the head. It would make think twice about fucking with the police.

Plus it would make good T.V.

This is where we could of used our Skyhawks/F16s! Soon end that car chase.

Fire into their CoM until they are no longer a threat or until a fresh mag is needed..... then carry on firing

You and I must have had the same weapons instructor.

When the crim came out of the van still carrying a weapon, he was a threat. The only way to eliminate the threat is to squeeze your own trigger first, and keep right on sqeezing until there is no longer a threat. The cops' score is 8 of 10, They should have fired twice more for the full 10.
