Very interesting. The sports touring tyre is a market segment that Dunlop has neglected for a significant length of time. Indeed if Shinko made sports tourers they'd probably be better than Dunlop's current offering.
I may well try a set of these new Roadsmarts at my next change.

The VFR750 had Shinko tyres on it when I bought it in 2000 (?)
They were 'adequate'. No doubt they've improved since then, but the beef I had with them was they weren't confidence inspiring (unlike, f'rinstance, the Storms). I replaced them with Azaros (better) then Bridgestones: BT020R and BT012F (heaps better).
The thing was, they didn't get any better wear than the subsequent tyres, and the uninspiring lack of feel / feedback more than offset any price difference.
Motorcycling is (for me at least), a visceral thing. A bike is an expensive toy, so why penny-pinch on something that's responsible for a large part of the enjoyment of the experience? :spudwhat:
Anyway, as a result of that short period, I'm not prepared to try Shinkos again, unless they get rave reviews in the media.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
Andrew!
You're back!??

130 x 90 -17 68H SR 712R
100 x 90 -19 57H SR 712R
I guess the SR stands for Standard Radial and not Sports Radial as the label says oh um speed rating 230KPH Damded if they are nor sitting on my old xsessive sports tourer
And also I guess that the chappie who sold the to me as a sports radial was wrong
Bugger!
Oh those dunlops look like good burnout material, I hope the compounds are softer than their other tyres, they might stick then instead of slide!
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
