Good advice V, many on here would be very willing to help, but not at the expense of a pasting from the community for doing so. Mind you there are some that would not worry about that either....

    That wasn't a dig

You were not being grumpy just interpreting the post as you saw fit, which you are well within your rights too. I must agree that some of the wording was a little off but then again I have been guilty of not re-reading what I have written on here. Learnt very quickly not to do it again!!

Don't apologise for having an opinion!!!! We lurv you for it!!

how soon can I expect the not expecting attitude to work... for that matter, how do you make yourself not expect, and expect results?

It is all in the mid honey. Once you stop worrying about meeting someone and are happy with you and your life, bingo it happens. I have a friend who measures herself by whether she has a boyfriend and she is so desperate that she sees every man she meets as a potential husband and father to her children. Believe me she has frightened the crap out of some of my most sound male friends and they say that you can 'smell' her desperation a mile away. She has spent most of the last decade or so single!!

I wasn't looking for anyone, and didn't want anyone when BANG I met my lovely Kiwi boyfriend. And I am so happy I did. Fate is a wonderful Mistress.
