Oh god yeah. At first I was like "I'm not going to own a yellow bike...its yellow" But then I saw one when I did my basic handling test and made my mind up.

My new ride has finally been delivered after more than two weeks of freight and workshop delays.

Brand spanking new Suzuki VL250 K7 Intruder

Picked it up after work and took it for the virgin ride.

Picked up in Penrose, quick trip down to Mt Wellington to see a mate,
then off down the Pakuranga Highway to catch another mate in Howick,
After a quick coffee, off down to Eastern Beach to perv at the skanks. . . Tide was out (in every sense of the word),
A quick blat back down the Pak H'Way then right and across to Mission Bay for a cruise around the waterfront,
    Up Parnell Rise,
    Throught Newmarket,
and safe and sound to home in Greenlane.

50 odd kilometers, not bad for a first ride. Itching to get out and about on the unforgiving Auckland roads as much as possible, bugger I have work to go to during the day tommorow.

They're quite nice bikes, actually. Put a few kilometres on one example overseas. Surprisingly grunty considering they're a broad flat torque-curve V-twin. Felt nice and taut through the corners as well.

Sound good debaffled and still run well. Get that electric drill out!

Ya around that, it sorta differs depending were u look, they recan bout 70hp from the engine, 62.5hp at the wheel without mods; exhaust reeds and afew other things will up them quite abit. Seen some at 75hp+ around on some sites.
Also differs in the post 1998 models as they updated them in 1998 with different fairings, better shocks and re-tweaked engine, so the later ones have a lil more and better power delivery. (so anyone looking to buy one look for a post 98 model if u can find one)

yeah, says "measured on dynojets dynamometer."

Factory pro is a great site, lots of good tech articles on several bikes. Read up a bit on that True HP site, goes into dynojet dynamometers,

(sigh...)

All because some guy thought that a 1985 prerelease version V Max made 145 crank hp according to the marketing dept. and he couldn't have his "new" inertia dyno read 90 hp on a stock dealership V-Max. Well, he WAS right at 85-90, but he made it read 120 to sell more people on his dynos. And that's where the chassis dyno hp mess started.
