Pikok hillis a great road, but watch out for the cars round there, iv come round corners and found them going to fast and crossing the center line....not what you wana see when lent over exeting a corner!!!

Even saw some idiot flip his car in the other direction ahead of me taking a corner to fast.

Still one of my favourite roads though especially when its quiet.

Also love the on ramp from tawa if your heading to welly, if its clear its perfect for getting right over, feels so good when you get it right!

    Moody Blue

Pie Cock Hill was pretty moody last night, but perfect weather to be riding it. Cool, dry and no crap on the road. Very light traffic...

    Bliss

Last night the pie cock hill road was mint. There was even another motorbycyclist at the summit taking pics just like I do, spooky

Kapiti was resplendent (pic 1). Well OK, not shining but glorious.

Love the road, but there is one corner that still gets me. It has a road works rut through it - going to the right of it means I risk oncoming traffic crossing the centre line, going to the left means I have to cross it mid-corner, and well I just haven't got the hang of it yet.

Bit too much traffic this time. I normally leave a little later. Got a good clear run round the Pauatahanui Inlet on the return trip, what bliss.

Same. When I commuted from Porirua to the big smoke, I'd leave real early and go up the line, over the hill, round the inlet, over Haywards. It was good pre-orifice therapy. But alas, I didn't have the dirty gixxer back then...

Sometimes I just ride round and round and round it

I think you mean the TelstraClear fibre.

You should try the tukas about 7:30pm. Hardly a car to be seen, and the road is a nice temp so few slidy moments on hot tar.

Had a brilliant ride over there tonight. Around the Inlet, over Haywards, over the Taka's, around Lake Ferry, a beer at the Tin Hut and then back to Tawa via Taka's, Haywards and Inlet. Magic.

I never go straight to the 58 from Mana. Always go over the bridge so I can go around Grey's Rd. and back down 58 to the car park. I've been known to repeat the trip between the car park at Browns Bay and the top end of Camborne 8-10 times. Love that road.

Sunday morning on Pie Cock Hill was mint. Traffic was elsewhere. Though on the return trip the traffic started getting heavier, but in the opposite direction.

From the lookout, the water looked so flat and glassy. Road was in good condition. The debris from previous rain has pretty much gone.

Still love this road. People say go do the Rimutaka's, and I do, but Pie Cock Hill is more accessible to me. Plus some other things.

One day I might get a proper camera. But then it's just another thing to carry... So probably not.
