Yep the 'bite the curb' scene was pretting full on. My father watched it with me and here's a man who used to skin and gut deer for a living and he had to look away.

He can gut a deer but the smell of fresh cat shit makes him gag.

Legends of the Fall .... unbearably sad.
The Notebook - just have to register agreement re that one - awesome.
Beaches - but that might be just a bit too obviously a chick flick ....

Drum roll ....my all-time favourite saddest movie ...
Mask - bikes in it too - chur chur!

Million Dollar Baby is an exceptionally good film. It isnt Raging Bull, but its bloody good nonetheless
Dominion Post - "possibly the most overrated movie I know of. The unbelievable script, leaden and portentous directing, and unforgivably saccharine denouement somehow got this funeral march of a film into the Oscars ahead of Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, and pretty much forced "the academy" to give Scorsese his overdue statue for The Departed in 2007, ahead of Eastwood's superior Letters from Iwo Jima. Funny old world."

I'd agree that Morgan Freeman is a great actor, but Hilary Swank doesn't cut it with me, and Clint Eastwood may have been good at some stage in his career, but following movies like Play Misty for Me, he lost the plot a little.

Another vote for The Notebook though, great movie and my husband found it quite sad too.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Say goodbye to my daughter the other day at Auckland Airport, gave her a hug and she started crying and wouldnt let go...that got me going, we were both standing there crying and the flight attendant said ''its ok dad, stay here as long as you want''....thank god for sun glasses is all i can say.

If they like watching very old movies, Greyfriars Bobby is a real tear jerker.

Don't dig the whole sad movie thing.

Although, I do those sexy films/horror films where you can get a good make session out of your g/f.

Another good one relatively unknown is "I am Sam" with Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer.
I never was a fan of his until I saw this movie: he is just unbelievably credible in this one, and definitely got me choked up.

The "Green Mile" is another one that gets to me, and has an awesome reunion of talent.

The NZ Post adverts' at the moment do pretty well. Just the right music to add to the feeling.
